Who Can Apply for MHT CET CAP 2026?

The CAP is open to candidates seeking admission to first-year Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Management Studies courses in Maharashtra. Applicants must have appeared in MHT CET 2026 or an equivalent qualifying examination as specified in the official brochure.

Domicile, category, and academic eligibility norms follow the rules set by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. Candidates should refer to the Information Brochure for Academic Year 2026-27 on the official portal for the full eligibility list.

How to Complete MHT CET CAP 2026 Registration?

Candidates must complete both registration and document verification within the revised window. The CET Cell offers two verification modes, and applicants may choose either based on convenience.

  • Visit the official portal at fe2026.mahacet.org.
  • Register using a valid mobile number and email ID.
  • Fill in personal, academic, and category details in the application form.
  • Upload the required documents in the specified format and size.
  • Pay the application fee online through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
  • Choose E-Scrutiny for online verification or Physical Scrutiny at an assigned facilitation centre.
  • Submit the form and download the confirmation receipt for future reference.

What Are the Two Verification Modes?

E-Scrutiny allows candidates to upload documents online and get them verified remotely without visiting any centre. Physical Scrutiny requires candidates to visit the assigned Facilitation Centre with original documents during the allotted time slot.

Both modes carry equal weight, and the verified profile is used to prepare the merit list. Candidates unsure about document validity may prefer Physical Scrutiny for direct on-spot clarification.

Why This Extension Matters

More than 2.76 lakh candidates had applied by July 11. The extension gives late applicants and pending document-verification cases four extra days. It also shifts the provisional merit list to July 19, keeping the counselling calendar on track.

Action Plan for Candidates

  • Log in to fe2026.mahacet.org and complete the application before July 16, 5 pm.
  • Keep scanned copies of Class 10, Class 12, MHT CET 2026 scorecard, domicile, and category certificates ready.
  • Choose the preferred verification mode and finish scrutiny by July 17, 5 pm.
  • Save the payment receipt and application confirmation for the next stages.
  • Check the provisional merit list on July 19 and raise grievances by July 22 if needed.
