The Centralised Admission Process (CAP) covers M.E. and M.Tech admissions. It applies to government and unaided institutes across Maharashtra. Candidates allotted seats must accept their seat online and then report physically to the allotted institute today.

About the MHT MTech CET 2026 Admission Process
MHT MTech CET is a state-level entrance test for postgraduate engineering. It is conducted by the State CET Cell Maharashtra each academic year. The 2026 examination opened admission to M.E. and M.Tech seats across Maharashtra.
Admissions happen through the CAP portal after registration and document scrutiny. Candidates fill online preferences based on eligible institutes and branches. The CET Cell then allots seats using merit and category rules.

What Are the Seat Acceptance Options?

How to Accept the Allotted Seat Online?
- Visit me2026.mahacet.org and open the CAP Round 1 login page.
- Enter your application number and password to check allotment status.
- Verify your personal details, allotted institute, branch, and quota shown on the screen.
- Select the freeze option: Auto-Freeze, Self-Freeze, or Not Freeze.
- Pay the seat acceptance fee online through the payment gateway.
- Download the seat acceptance receipt for reporting at the institute.

How Are Fees Paid and Grievances Handled?
Seat acceptance fees are collected only through the online payment gateway. Candidates can use net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. Offline modes are not accepted for this transaction.
Any error in the allotment or personal record can be reported online. The grievance link opens through the same candidate login page. The CET Cell responds through the candidate's registered email and mobile number.

Documents Required for Institute Reporting
Candidates must carry all original documents and one set of photocopies. The institute verifies records before confirming admission on the CAP portal.

- MHT MTech CET 2026 scorecard and admit card
- Qualifying degree marksheets and provisional or degree certificate
- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets with school leaving certificate

What Happens at the Institute Reporting Desk?
The allotted institute cross-checks all original certificates against the online record. Officials verify the candidate's identity, category status, and qualifying degree details. Any mismatch may lead to seat cancellation on the portal.
After successful verification, the institute confirms admission in the CAP system. The candidate then receives a printed confirmation slip. Only this slip guarantees a confirmed seat under CAP Round 1.

Missing today's acceptance or reporting deadline cancels the allotted seat. That seat then returns to the vacancy pool for the next round. Candidates who miss both windows must wait for CAP Round 2 to reapply.
