MH CET/MHT CET 2018 Counselling Process

MHT CET 2018 Counselling will be conducted by The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. The counselling process for MHT CET will begin in the month of June 2018. Candidates must register online mode to attend the counselling session. Candidates applying for Institutional Quota Seats and Supernumerary Seats for OCI/PIO/foreign students & children of Indian workers in Gulf countries have to apply directly to the conducting authority i.e. DTE Maharshtra  and concerned institution.

Latest: MHT CET 2018 Application Form is available now. Last date to submit completed application form is March 25 ( March 31 with late fee)

  • From the 2nd week of June 2018, the counselling will start.
  • Only 15%  all India quota seats will be filled through JEE Main. Rest of the seats will be filled through MHT CET 2018
  • Candidates will be called for the counselling, after the announcement of MHT CET Result.
  • The documents & MHT CET Eligibility of the selected candidates will be checked by the conducting authority.
  • As per the counselling schedule, candidates have to report to the Regional Center.
  • After the verification of documents & eligibility, the authority will invite the application for admissions.
  • Candidates have to enter colleges & courses in the decreasing order according to their preferences.

This counselling will be conducted through a Centralised Counselling Process. Through CAP following seats are filled:-

  • Maharashtra State Candidature Seats,
  • All India Candidature Seats,
  • Minority Quota Seats and  
  • Supernumerary Seats for Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature.

Registration Procedure for MHT CET Counselling 2018

The process of counselling of MHT CET 2018 will commence tentatively from the first week of June 2018. All candidates who wish to participate in MHT CET 2018 counselling will be required to attempt the MHT CET 2018 examination. Registrations for the counselling process has to be done by the candidates. The given steps can be followed by the candidates to register for the counselling session:

  • Step 1 – Registration
  • Step 2 – Details on Types of Candidature
  • Step 3 – Enter Qualification and Examination Details
  • Step 4 – Uploading of Scanned Images
  • Step 5 – Payment of Counselling Fees
  • Step 6 – Print out of Counselling Application Form

Step 1 – Registration– For the first step, the candidates will have to register themselves.

  • Click on “New Registrations”
  • In the next page, the selection of nationality has to be done by the candidates.

Next, the candidates will have to submit their personal, contact and security details on the registration form. The candidates have to remember that all of the submitted details have to valid in nature. A password also has to be selected by the candidates after filling their information.

Security Question

  • The candidates will have to select their security question
  • The question has to be answered by the candidates

Selection of Password

A password has to be created by the candidates after submitting the required details. The listed policies have to be correctly followed by the candidates while creating the password:

  • The password must be 8 to 13 characters long
  • The password must have atleast one upper and lower case alphabet.
  • Atleast one numeric value must be present in the password.
  • The password must contain at least one special character i.e., !@#$%^&*-

Step 2 - Selection of Details on Types of Candidature – While registering themselves, the candidates will have to select their type of candidature according to their category. The selection has to be done from the following categories by the candidates as per their eligibility:

  • Maharashtra State Candidature (Type A/B/C/D/E)
  • OMS
  • J&K Migrant Applicant
  • Foreign Students
  • NRI
  • GoI

Step 3 - Enter Qualification and Examination Details – The candidates will have to submit their 10th and 12th standard subject wise and overall marks along with the name of the school board. All of the information related to the MHT CET 2018 examination will also have to be submitted by the candidates.

Step 4 – Uploading of Scanned Images – Next, the candidates will have to submit their scanned photograph and signature according to the specifications mentioned in the table given below:

Step 5 – Payment of Counselling Fees – After submitting all of the required information and scanned images, the candidates will have to pay the counselling fees. The payment of the counselling fees has to be done in online mode.

Step 6 – Take Print out of Counselling Application Form – After payment of the counselling fees, the candidates will have to take print out of the filled application form and present it for verification at the facilitation centres.

Reporting at Admission Facilitation Centres (AFC)

All registered candidates will have to report at the admission facilitation centres for verification of documents. The original documents along with a set of attested copies have to be presented at the facilitation centres. Those candidates who do not report at the facilitation centre will not be allowed to proceed further in the admission process. The following documents have to be submitted for verification:

  • Print out of MHT CET 2018 Counselling Registration Form
  • MHT CET 2018 Result
  • MHT CET 2018 Admit Card
  • 10th and 12th Standard Pass Certificate and Mark Sheet
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Character Certificate
  • Migration Certificate
  • School Leaving Certificate
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

Selection of College and Course

Next, the candidates will have to log into their accounts to submit their choice of college and course. Minimum 1 and maximum 300 options can be selected by the candidates. All of the options have to be selected in order of preference since this factor will also be considered during the allotment of seats.

Release of Provisional Merit List

The concerned authorities of MHT CET 2018 will be releasing the provisional merit list tentatively in the third week of June 2018. MHT CET 2018 provisional merit list will consist of the names of the allotted candidates. The authorities will allott the seats according to the merit of the candidates along with his/her preference of courses and colleges.

MHT CET 2018 Seat Allotment

The candidates will be allotted into the participating institutes through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) The allotment of MHT CET 2018 CAP Round I will be done tentatively in the fourth week of June 2018. The candidates will be able to check their allotment status by submitting their application id and date of birth. Allotment of seats will be done according to the merit of the candidate and their submitted choices. Another factor of allotment is also the availability of seats. The allotment list will be published only in online mode.

Reporting at Admission Reporting Centres

After allotment, the candidates will have to report at their neared reporting centre to “freeze”, “float” or “slide” their allotted seat. If the candidates do not wish to participate in the further round of seat allotment, then they will have to select “Freeze”. The option of “Slide” is selected if the candidate accepts the allotted seat but is open for admission into a higher preferred course within the same institute. “Float” is selected when the candidate accepts the allotted seat but shows interest if any higher preferred choice of course or college is open for admission in the further rounds of allotment.

Reporting at Allotted Institute

Allotted candidates will finally have to report to their allotted institute to complete the admission process. Payment of the balance fees has to be done to confirm the allotted seats. The confirmation process has to be completed before the final date.
