AFMC will be conducting a grand ceremony in which President Murmu will confer the prestigious award. The ceremony will also witness the release of a special cover & stamp and a commemorative coin by the President. Smt Murmu will also e-inaugurate ‘Prajna’, the Armed Forces Centre for Computational Medicine during the ceremony.
The Platinum Jubilee Year Celebration will be held at the Capt. Devashish Sharma Kirti Chakra Parade Ground at AFMC. There will be a ceremonial parade where lady medical officers will be leading the four contingents of the Armed Forces Medical Services personnel serving in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, epitomizing women empowerment in the AFMS.
This ceremony will also be attended by Senior dignitaries and officials from the Central and state governments and the Armed Forces. Veteran officers including the Ex-Director and Commandants and Ex-Dean and Deputy Commandants will also grace the occasion.
What is President’s Colour?
The President's Colour Award is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon any military unit of India. It is also known as Nishaan, which is an emblem that is worn by all unit officers on the left-hand sleeve of their uniform. It is an acknowledgement of the unit's meritorious service.
