IIT Kanpur Launched SATHEE to Assist JEE, NEET and Other Competitive Exam Aspirants

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) and Ministry of Education have jointly introduced an inventive online educational platform, Self-Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams (SATHEE). 

This initiative aims to assist students in preparing for competitive exams, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), and striving toward achieving sustainable development goals.

The project was launched by S Ganesh, officiating director of IIT Kanpur; Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary of the Education Ministry; Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of School Education within the Ministry of Education; and Amey Karkare, the principal investigator of the SATHEE.

Self Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams

SATHEE provides video lectures by faculties from IITs and IISc, catering to National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) aspirants. 

The ministry mentioned that the platform had initiated a 45-day crash course for JEE, designed explicitly for intensive preparation and quick revision. It is tailored for students aiming to strengthen their knowledge before exams.

The platform aims to be accessible in English, Hindi, and multiple regional languages, aiding students in overcoming language barriers and ensuring inclusivity in learning. K Sanjay Murthy, Secretary of the Department of Higher Education within the Ministry of Education, unveiled the platform during an event at Shastri Bhawan. 

The platform will feature a range of specialised, meticulously crafted learning modules by experts, introducing innovative elements such as an interactive chatbot. Additionally, it will schedule frequent doubt-clearing sessions led by students from IITs and AIIMS.

S Ganesh said, "The outreach of SATHEE marks a significant step towards enhancing accessibility to education in India. This platform opens up new avenues for students preparing for competitive exams, offering quality resources and support. Our goal is to ensure that every student, irrespective of their location or financial situation, has the opportunity to excel in their academic pursuits. SATHEE is a testament to our commitment to educational equity and excellence."
