Chandigarh: The Punjab state government has decided to reopen universities and colleges in the state from November 16, 2020.
The Government said Punjab colleges and universities will start functioning in the areas outside COVID 19 containment zones from November 16, 2020.
Although the classes for final year medical education and Research department will start from November 9, 2020, said an official spokesperson.

As unlock 6 is spreading around the country many states have released their guidelines regarding Educational institutions reopening.
Punjab Colleges have been closed since March when the pandemic spread around the country.
An official said that all the higher education institutions, medical colleges, and other research and technical classes would be allowed to reopen from November 16, 2020.
Although, only Punjab colleges and universities in the area outside the containment zones would be allowed to reopen in the state.

The official also indicates that all the Punjab colleges resuming from November 16 will have to follow all the necessary guidelines and SoPs issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Education, and State & Central Government.
The Punjab State Government has already given permission to reopen higher education institutions including Research Scholars (Ph.D.) and postgraduate students in science and technology to reopen classes after October 15, 2020.
The permission was given to all research and technical departments which require laboratories and experimental work.
