Anna University successfully conducted TANCET 2026 exam for MBA and MCA courses. As per the official schedule, TANCET MCA was held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and TANCET MBA from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM in offline OMR-based mode across 15 test cities of Tamil Nadu.

TANCET 2026 will be conducted across 15 test cities in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Salem, Tirunelveli, Erode, Vellore, Thanjavur, Tuticorin, Dindigul, Karaikudi, Kanyakumari, Nagercoil, and Villupuram (as per the candidate's allotment).
Reporting time as per the hall ticket: 9:00 AM for Shift 1 (MCA) and 1:30 PM for Shift 2 (MBA). Candidates reaching after the gate-closing time will not be allowed entry under any circumstances.

Anna University has clarified that candidates from any state in India are eligible to appear for TANCET 2026.
- There is no domicile requirement to register for or write the exam.
- Individual participating colleges and the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Chennai, may apply their own state quota and eligibility rules during admissions.
- Basic eligibility — A bachelor's degree with 50% marks (45% for BC/MBC/SC/ST/SCA candidates of Tamil Nadu). Final-year UG students can also apply.
As per Anna University's official data, around 33,000 candidates have registered for TANCET 2026 across both MBA and MCA streams.
- Last year (2025), the figures stood at 22,806 for MBA and 10,287 for MCA, with an average absentee rate of around 7%.
Of these, MBA continues to attract the larger share, owing to the fact that over 200 MBA colleges in Tamil Nadu — including Anna University DoMS, PSG Institute of Management Coimbatore, SSN School of Management, and Thiagarajar School of Management — accept the TANCET score for admission.

Score formula: Final Score = (Correct × 1) − (Wrong × 0.33). To target Anna University DoMS, aspirants typically need 60+ for MBA; for top MCA seats a normalised score of 155+ is competitive.
Anna University releases the TANCET answer key in two phases — provisional and final. Based on previous years,
- The provisional answer key for TANCET 2026 is expected to be released on tancet.annauniv.edu within 5–7 days of the exam, i.e. around mid-May 2026.
- Candidates can raise objections against the provisional key by paying a fee. The final answer key is published along with the result.

As per past trends, Anna University declares the TANCET result within 3–4 weeks of the exam.
