TANCET Counselling 2018 – Anna University has begun the online application process of TANCET MBA 2018 counselling on June 13 and will continue until July 12, 2018. The competent authority then prepares 3 separate TANCET Rank Lists for admission. For the academic session 2018-20, TANCET Result has been declared on June 8, 2018. Qualifying candidates must register themselves at the official website (annauniv.edu) and pay INR 500 as counselling fee.
We suggest you check the seat vacancy status of participating colleges, after each round of counselling of TANCET. Based on the number of vacant seats, the number of counseling rounds will be decided. Read on to know more about TANCET counselling, TANCA, Merit List, Seat Allotment, Procedure and Important Dates.
TANCET 2018 Counselling will take place at the chosen counselling centers and admissions will be done purely on the basis of TANCET Cut Off.
For admission to MBA/MCA/MCA Lateral Entry courses, TANCET Counselling will be held by Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai-25 and Director of Collegiate Education Chennai-6.
For admission to M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch/M.Plan courses, TANCET Counselling 2018 will be directed by Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA), Anna University, Chennai-25.
There are more than 442 TANCET Colleges in Tamil Nadu. These include government, government aided and self-financed colleges.
Given below is a tentative schedule for TANCET 2018 Counselling for MBA/MCA/M.Tech. We will update you with the actual dates once Anna University announces them:

TANCET 2018 Counselling Procedure
After the declaration of the result, candidates need to register separately for TANCET 2018 Counselling at the official website of Anna University. The link will be live soon after the results are declared. Candidates who have qualified GATE 2018 are exempted from appearing in the examination but can participate in TANCET 2018 Counselling.
The eligibility criteria to qualify for the TANCET 2018 Counselling is mentioned below:
For General category, the candidates must pass all the subjects of the qualifying degree with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
For Reserved categories (BC / BCM / MBC&DNC / SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu), the candidates must pass the qualifying examination with 45% marks.
How to Apply for TANCET MBA/MCA Counselling?
There are two available modes to apply for TANCET ME/MTech Counselling:
1. Offline Form Procedure
Candidates can get the Application Form for Counselling from various Application Form Issue Centre.
The form requires information such as Name, Registration number etc.
After filling the form, enclose the relevant documents and send it to “The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai”
Candidate are asked to fill in the details such as Name, Registration Number and Counselling Centre.
Take the printout and enclose the relevant documents with DD and send the package to ”The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai”
After the candidates have successfully applied for counselling of TANCET 2018, Anna University releaseS the counselling call letter to the concerned candidates with information about the Time and date of counselling, along with candidates Name, Registration Number, Counselling Centre and the City.
Candidates need to report at the counselling Centre 2 hours before the scheduled time to avoid any last minute hassle and panic.
The admission to various institutes over Tamil Nadu are carried out through Single window counselling at various counselling centres across the Tamil Nadu state.
The counselling of students for course such as M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch/M.Plan are carried out by an entire separate body known as Tamil Nadu Common Admission (TANCA) 2018.
GATE 2018 qualified candidates can also apply for TANCA 2018 but only if they have marks equal to or more than the minimum qualifying marks in that category.
TANCET 2018 Merit List
For admissions into courses viz. M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch/M.Plan, TANCA creates 3 separate TANCET Rank Lists considering counselling in three categories for further counselling processes.
GATE 2018 qualified Candidate: For Engineering/Technology Candidates
GATE 2018 qualified Candidates with valid TANCET 2018 scores: For Engineering Science XS/Life Sciences XL candidates
TANCET Category: Candidates with valid TANCET 2018
Sponsored Category: Sponsored candidates with valid TANCET 2018 scores.
Change of date / time of counselling is not permissible. Authorities are not responsible for the postal delay or non-receipt of counselling intimation.
Once a seat is allotted, the amount of 5,000/- for general or 1,000/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates already paid at the time of counselling will be adjusted towards the tuition fee to be paid to the respective allotted college.
Candidates are advised to post the completed application with all the enclosures well in advance so as to reach Anna University, Chennai-25 on or before the specified date and time. Application may be sent by Registered post or Speed post to avoid any delay.
The candidates have to pay the remaining fees in the college concerned at the time of admission on the date specified in the allotment order. No further correspondence will be entertained pertaining to Admissions.

Candidates should enclose an Original Demand Draft for INR 300/- drawn in favour of "The Secretary, TN MBA / MCA Admissions - 2018, GCT" payable at COIMBATORE, dated not earlier than May 29, 2018.
Applications received without the Registration fee will be summarily rejected.
INR 150/- for SC / SCA / ST Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu (Self attested Xerox copy of Community Certificate should be enclosed).
Demand Draft can be drawn from any India Nationalized bank
After submitting online, printout of the TANCET Counselling application, relevant enclosures and the original Demand Draftmust be sent by post or dropped in a box at the office of the "The Secretary, TN MBA / MCA Admissions - 2018, Government College of Technology, Coimbatore 641013" before the last date specified.
Use only A4 Size cover duly affixing printed copy of address label.
After publishing Rank List, Print your call letter with out fail after login.
You need to carry your call letter while appearing for the Counselling.
Read all instruction mentioned in the call letter.
Make sure you reach venue 1 hour earlier than your scheduled counselling time.

TANCET 2018 Call Letter
After successful receiving of TANCET 2018 MBA/MCA Counselling application form along all the corresponding documents by Anna University. Candidates’ Counselling call letter is released. Counselling call letter authorizes the candidates’ candidature during the counselling. In no circumstances, candidate should reach Counselling Centre without Counselling call letter.

Counselling Charges and Fees
Candidates have to pay an amount of INR 5300 for open candidates and INR 1150 for SC/ST/SCA candidates of Tamil Nadu which includes non-refundable amount of INR 300(INR 150 for SC/ST/SCA) towards counselling fee.
Allotted candidates will be given the provisional allotment slip and receipt for Rs.5000/- (Rs.1000/- in case of Tamil Nadu SC/SCA/ST).Candidates have to pay the remaining fee to the college allotted at the time of admission on the date specified in the provisional allotment order.
Once a seat is allotted, the amount of ` 5,000/- for general or ` 1,000/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates already paid at the time of counselling will be adjusted towards the tuition fee to be paid to the respective allotted college.
Refund of Initial Deposit: If a candidate does not join as per the allotment and seeks refund, only 80 % of the initial deposit amount paid at the time counselling will be refunded and the candidate should submit the following on or before the last date.

TANCET 2018 Seat Allotment
During TANCET Counselling, candidates will be asked to choose colleges along with their appropriate branches from list of all the colleges affiliated to TANCET 2018, TANCA 2018.
Candidates are advised to stay informed about the college they are choosing during counselling.
Allotted seats to the candidate are subject to vacant seats in the college and common merit list prepared.
Candidate with better rank in common merit list will be given preference over other candidates during allotment of seats.
Candidates can attend the second and even third counselling, if he/she is not satisfied with the allotted college.
Candidates absent in the first phase of counselling or second phase of counselling will not be allowed to attend next and there on phases of TANCET 2018 Counselling.
Colleges allocated in the last round will be considered final.
