Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has set-up smart classes in 764 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) under “Mission Shakti” program. Smart classes have been equipped for students of weaker sections of the society.
‘Mission Shakti’ is a KGBV’s ongoing program that provides free education to girls of weaker sections of UP state. To provide a superior and well-equipped teaching interface to students, smart classes are being introduced to Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas (KGV).

Basic Education Officer of Lucknow, Dinesh Kumar mentioned, Smarts Classes have been already placed in the 8 KGBV’s every 8 blocks of Lucknow. He further emphasized the State Government’s initiative will help girls to connect with society’s mainstreams.

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) is established in the 72 districts of Uttar Pradesh to provide free education, food, accommodation, books, and other facilities to girls studying in Classes 6th to 8th.
