What is the average package for a UPTU AKTU pass out student Is it better to join AKTU than private colleges like LPU and SRM?

SA
Swaranita Arora Posted On : October 22nd, 2021
Studies Electrical Engineering at AKTU, 2021

If you have been acquainted with institutes affiliated with AKTU, like, A.K Garg, KIET, ABES, NIET, GNIT, ITS Engineering College, G.L Bajaj, and others, then you should know that there are several companies that visit the campus, yet at times, the packages seem to vary. The average package is about INR 2.2 LPA to 3.2 LPA.

However, there are several students who grab packages above average, ranging from between INR 4.5 LPA to 6 LPA. Most of these packages are bagged by Computer Science and IT students since their demand is surfacing drastically every day.

Now, if comparing on various important parameters, then both the institutes can be bifurcated in two ways,

  1. AKTU/UPTU: If you are efficient, you can receive one of the best packages in the market. The training and placement cell, in addition, are consistently working with great attention to help students secure a good position in the industrial market.

  2. LPU and SRM: The only major criteria that make both universities stand out is their campuses. Having numerous lab amenities, established infrastructure, and fancy canteen areas. Academically speaking, LPU still offers practical knowledge on different spectrums, and also additionally conducts intercollegiate technical events.

It depends on which of the aspects suits you the most.

How do I convert a CGPA into a percentage in Savitribai Phule Pune University?

RD
Riya Das Posted On : May 3rd, 2026

CGPA to percentage conversion at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU/Pune University) for engineering:

SPPU uses the following official formula:

Percentage = (CGPA - 0.5) × 10

example: if CGPA = 7.8, percentage = (7.8 - 0.5) × 10 = 73%

some departments and exam schemes may have slight variations, but this formula is the standard one used by SPPU for engineering programs under the CBCGS system.

important: for any official purpose (job applications, higher studies, government exams), carry a certificate from SPPU/your college confirming the conversion formula, as some organizations want formal documentation rather than a self-computed figure. SPPU issues a grading equivalence certificate if needed. check the current official SPPU circular on unipune.ac.in for the latest formula applicable to your batch.

How good of a college is a BIT Sindri?

AM
Ankur Mishra Posted On : September 12th, 2023
Studied at Birsa Institute of Technology, Sindri

My sister is a final-year student of BIT Sindri. Initially, she was very disappointed because of its poor infrastructure. The equipment in the labs was obsolete. But the new director brought huge changes to uplift the image of the college. Done if the changes were

  • The campus became ragging-free completely which was not the case earlier.
  • New and more qualified faculty were recruited
  • The CM inaugurated Jharkhand’s biggest IT lab.
  • Vocational training was offered to students of all branches from 2nd to final year. BITians now are offered exposure almost like IITs.
  • The buildings were renovated and modern facilities were installed. The campus facilities have been improved such as LED street lights and Signboards.
  • Another major change that has been made is the reopening of FCI(Fertilizer Corporation of India) in Sindri. This has enhanced customer service considerably.
  • The institute charges very low fees around INR 20332 per year.
  • The placement scenario has improved considerably and last year, the highest package stood at INR 45.5 LPA. Some of the top recruiters included Amazon, Siemens, Paytm, Juspay, TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Wipro, JK Paper, ACC, JSW, Ambit, IBM, Navitas, Modelon, etc.

In all, Parul University is one of the best colleges in India.

SB
Swastika Bera Posted On : January 17th, 2021
Studied Bachelor of Technology in Instrumentation and Control Engineering at Andhra University College of Sciences (2019)

It depends on which branch you would like to join. If you're in the open category, it is important to get at least 1000 to 1500 rank for branches like Case, mechanical, computer engineering, civil engineering.

For other small branches, such as metallurgy, marine, civil environment, etc, You do not need to have a strong rank of 1000 to 1500 to get a seat in these small divisions. Ranks between 4000 and 5000 (open category) are appropriate followed by counselling and personal interview.

There is not much difference among courses, but in 4th year subjects will be different from civil subjects.

Some facts regarding Andhra University are following:

Admission process

Fully online

Average course fee

3.80 lakhs

NIRF ranking

36th

Average salary package

For the students belonging to SC and ST categories rank will go much higher.

One of my friends is an alumnus of IIT Madras and according to him, Professor V. Balakrishnan’s classes are must-experience classes at IIT Madras. However, he is not sure whether Prof. Balakrishnan teaches whole courses these days.

My friend was very fond of Prof. Balakrishnan and according to him, if you hear from any of your friends in the Engineering Physics/ Physics Grad stream that Prof. V. Balakrishnan is giving a guest lecture, make sure you attend it. You will learn something new and will be inspired.

The introductory part of the Indian edition of the Feynman Lectures was written by Prof. V. Balakrishnan if I am not wrong. You can read about him on Wikipedia. You will also find some of his finest lectures on YouTube.

His is classes on Quantum Mechanics and Dynamical Systems were my friend’s favorite.

One of my friends pursued his BBA degree from Ahmedabad University. His review regarding the institute is as follows.

  • Regardless of the course, you are pursuing, you need to stay engaged in your studies throughout the year at AU. You can’t mug up your books right before your examination and score well. You will have quizzes, case studies, presentations, etc. almost before every class.
  • It offers a wide range of courses. You will need to make your own timetable for the subjects that you choose.
  • The faculty of the institute is helpful. You can talk to them about your area of interest.

How good are IIIT Kota and IIIT Jabalpur in terms of placement and education?

MG
Mehak Ghosal Posted On : March 17th, 2021
Studied at IIIT Kota, (2018)

IIIT Kota is very new and is yet to make a mark with respect to IIIT Jabalpur. Whereas, with IIIT-Jabalpur the placements do keep varying. More or less, the placements are improving.

Academics:

  • IIIT Jabalpur has a very sound academic curriculum owing to the fact that IIT Kanpur was its mentor.
  • In IIIT Kota the curriculum is good but it hardly matters when you have teachers with hardly any knowledge.
  • The interdisciplinary curriculum in IIIT Jabalpur makes the academic bit steadfast with the add-on of designing structure.
  • Moreover, academic projects are floated in almost every important course.
  • Hence, adding a skill set to the students.

So, to put it together, the academics are nice, but placements can be improved. Being from IIIT gives you a special charm. Also, being new IIITs, they will take some time to establish themselves and the education factor is quite decent when compared to tier-2 private engineering colleges. But, they still have a long way to go reach the bar set by NITs or IITs.

The top bracket companies pay really well, but these new IIITs won't be the first choice for these companies. The mid-range paying companies will flock to these new IIITs; so, you will get a decent package.

So overall, it is better to have something than nothing.
