Which is better, IIT Delhi or IIT Madras?
Both institutes are elite in their unique ways and no one can be compared to another. So it’s better to determine the right one based on personal preferences. Some common points of difference based on common aspects are
- Location: While Delhi has a central location, IIT Madras is located in South India. For many, location is a matter of personal preference and thus it’s important to determine your own needs. Sometimes the opportunities offered also vary from location to location.

How can I (average student) pass in the first year MBBS examination RGUHS?
Passing in the first-year MBBS examination RGUHS requires a bit of tip and tricks. If you are an average student try following these as it could be helpful.
- Buy a companion (Yatiraj Singhi) and mark all RS2 and RS3 questions in the textbooks (focussing more on RS3) and read that much only.
- To pass it is not necessary to study the complete syllabus.
- Read All 3 markers questions from previous 5-year question papers, you can get it from the library or seniors.
- Your target should be to score at least 22+ of the given 30. Once you have scored it, you need to score is 28 more to pass the exams.
- For this, you are left with 5 and 10 marker questions, which means that you have to score 28 out of 70.
- Try scoring 3 marks each from the questions you know. You are done with 18 more marks.
- For the rest of the 4 questions, you should write it in such a way that you manage to score at least 1.5 - 2 marks for each question.
- For this, you should make diagrams and write a bit about them.
- Your strategy is to not waste much time on 10 markers while studying but to focus more on diagrams and flowcharts.
MCQs will also be there which come under the same high-scoring category but they could come from any part of the book.
Which is better, VIT CS or NIT Surathkal CS?
Even though I am a CSE student at VIT Vellore, I would like to point out some weaknesses of my institution-
- The annual intake for all the branches, all four categories, is quite high at VIT Vellore. It is close to 5000 students each year. In the CSE branch alone, close to 1300 students are admitted annually (including Bioinformatics).
- Placements seem very high, but in reality, large scale mass recruitments by IT firms like Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, etc. inflate the placement figures.
- The course fee at VIT is comparatively higher. It is around 1.95 Lakhs per year. This too if you are a category 1 (merit) student. Around 1 Lakh per year is added if you belong to the other three categories.
- Advanced Placement Training sessions have been introduced for students. But these sessions aren’t really helpful in practicality. In fact 6 hours of each weekend is spent in these sessions.
- Those with a good CGPA get good hostel rooms in good blocks. Those who fail to score high grades are given older blocks.
- The hostel rules are strict. This is especially true when you have to get a leave sanctioned from your faculty advisor or proctor.
NIT Surathkal, on the other hand, is a government college. It has an intake of around 800 students in all the branches, with 120 students in CSE. The institution offers top notch placements. There are no mass hirings. The course fee falls between 1.38 to 1.57 Lakhs per year. College rules are much more flexible.
Thus, based on these observations, I would suggest you take admissions in NIT Surathkal for your CSE program.

Which is better, Galgotia College or ABES Engineering College
Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology is obviously better than ABES Engineering College. It should not be confused with the Galgotias University as it is different from this college.
Galgotias College edges past ABES Engineering College in almost every aspect; quality of infrastructure, teaching methodology and faculty, and most importantly placements.
- Looking at the placement record for 2019-20, Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology had the highest CTC and average CTC of INR 11,18,669 per annum and INR 3,86,000 per annum respectively
- ABES Engineering College had the highest CTC of INR 10 LPA.
- They both are close in case of the locality as well; ABES Engineering College is in Ghaziabad while Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology is in Greater Noida.
- Both have equally competent faculty, placements, and facilities
So, as we can see there is not much of a difference, in reality, to sway in favor of one over the other. Any college you choose will be equally good for you. More important is your performance in the college to land a top job otherwise no college can give you anything readymade.
How is KSOM Bhubaneswar?
One of my friends was a student of this institute, and he told me that it is one of the worst institutes he has ever seen in his life.
The college administration is always focused on the NIRF ranking, which is 30, and how the Indian Ranking System is known to all. The teachers are fierce and don’t have a basic sense to behave with the student.
- My friend told me that there was a teacher, namely Abhishek Kumar, and if the student doesn’t call me Dr, then the student is gone. He demanded respect and wanted everyone to respect him anyhow. Even the staff were also talked behind him.
- He gave me another example of Mr. Jitendra Mohanty. He was one of this institute's unassuming people; he did not have a basic sense to respect his fellow students. He was the placement head, but he did not do anything to bring proper placement in this institute.
- Another one is Mrs. Gargi Banerjee, and she was the most biased teacher of this institute.
- Lastly, Mrs. Saptorshi Das was known as “The Oxford Women”. She always judged the student’s English, as she thought that she knows everything from the dictionary.
KSOM is one of the worst institutes, but if you are interested in doing MBA from this institute, then it still worth it, as college administration charges only 12LPA for MBA studied, including tuition fees and hostel (AC). But if you want to do BBA, then it is better to choose some other institute rather than KSOM because they charge 16 LPA for BBA studies, which is seriously worthless. Apart from this food, canteen, hostel, infrastructure and campus are pretty good.
