What is the problem with IIT Jodhpur?
I think the major problem that IIT Jodhpur faces is its locational disadvantages. It lacks facilities like flight connectivity with other metros and this directly affects the number and quality of MNCs that visit during placements.
Another problem that IIT Jodhpur students face is the long distance between hostels and college as they have to spend a lot of money traveling between campus and hostels. IIT Jodhpur also lacks in terms of academia and industrial ties again because of its poor location. However, the Mechanical engineering department has started several industry immersion programs so exposure is not an issue for them.
How is the anatomy department of AIIMS Delhi?
The Department of Anatomy is considered to be one of the best in India. departments at AIIMS, especially at the UG level.
- The department has a highly qualified and experienced faculty pool with professors who are dedicated to providing the best education and training to students.
- They have state-of-the-art facilities and resources to support their teaching and research activities.
- Students spend around 12 hours a week in the dissection hall
- The number of students per cadaver is very low around 9.
- Teaching is through a practical approach usually on the cadaver or under the microscope.
- The department follows an ideal paper pattern with the right blend of objective and subjective questions. This promotes overall learning and not just mugging up certain topics.
Overall, the department is well-regarded in the medical community and highly respected by students, faculty, and staff.
How is NIT Kurukshetra for girls?
One of my female friends is a student at NIT Kurukshetra. She realized that the world is a patriarchal society. The rules and regulations at NIT Kurukshetra too seemed to agree with this. The girls have to follow a strict hostel time of around 7 PM in winter and 8 30 in summer. For the boys, the same time is 10 pm. Also, they don't have to fill out a form every time they want to go out. Girls are not even allowed to roam freely late at night or access the 24/7 CCN, the library, or other things boys have access to.
Girls are not allowed to order food after 10 p.m. They are asked to change their clothes when wearing shorts or capris. The girls are not allowed to stay late and attend events like Star Night or any of the college band performances while the boys can stay for the rest of the performance.
My friend found no equality with her male counterparts at NIT Kurukshetra. There are many other instances where acts of discrimination have occurred. My friend feels that equality should start from an educational institute and only then can it extend outside.
So if you are a girl, and are planning to come to NIT Kurukshetra, you should be prepared for similar instances of gender discrimination. On the bright side, it will teach you how to deal with patriarchy outside college better because isn't the situation similar everywhere?
How does it feel studying at Miranda House?
If one believes there is intense competition for admission to Miranda, then one is in for a rude awakening after admission. Because admission cut-offs are typically around 90%+, everyone in your batch is as good as you, if not better.
- The faculty is incredibly inspiring.
- Almost every batch has a few students pursuing a Ph.D. from top world universities such as LSE, Harvard, and others.
- The academic pressure is low, which gives more time to focus on extracurriculars.
- The curriculum might feel a little repetitive. The teachers mainly focus on theoretical learning.
- It has the best infrastructure after SRCC. The hostels have been upgraded, with hygienic eateries.
- The culture is very liberal. They have a ragging-free institution.
Overall it's an amazing college with more amazing people. You will not regret being a part of Miranda House. From the faculty to the staff members and also your fellow classmates are very cooperative and helpful.
