Are there people who didn’t clear NEET but qualified for AIIMS and JIPMER?
Yes, there are. One of my friends got into AIIMS even though his NEET score was not that good. He is currently studying at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
If you didn’t perform well in a particular exam, it doesn't necessarily mean you won’t be able to perform well in others too. As for my friend, he analyzed his performance in NEET and worked on his weak points to score better.
How is it getting an MBA at Pondicherry University Are there any good placements?
Pondicherry University offers an MBA in various disciplines which are listed below –

Pondicherry University also offers an MBA part-time course which is also a self-financing course offered by the Department of Management Studies. Except for the Department of Tourism Studies, all other departments have lower placement results. However, do not depend on the university for placements.
In terms of studies, it is good. The fees are quite low compared to private colleges or IIMs. The faculty is really good and the knowledge you can acquire is enormous as well. The only thing that is not good enough is the placements so make your decision wisely.
Which is better: Grant Medical College or King George's Medical University or Seth GS Medical College?
This choice majorly depends on the student and his preferences.
Seth GS:
- If you prefer studying a lot probably most of the time then opt for Seth GS.
- They have a highly qualified staff and caters to KEM Hospital.
- You will be studying amongst some of the brightest minds.
- The hostel and accomodation facilities are the only problem, due to its location.
GMC:
- If you want to enjoy your college life, Grant Medical College (GMC) will be good for you.
- It has the largest campus in Maharashtra.
- GMC conducts the best cultural fests and events, be it sports, art or academics. This provides great exposure.
- The staff here is also highly qualified just like KEM.
- Students here tend to lean towards the extracurricular activities more than the studies.
- The campus has 2 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel enough to provide lodging for all the students who apply.
- The hostel provides facilities like hot water, pure drinking water, beds, tables, etc.
Most people will claim that KEM is better for your career. But at the end of the day you also need some extracurricular activities to engage in and avoid the monotony.
Will I regret my decision of joining MANIT Bhopal? Reading about it on Quora made me ask this question.
I was in a similar dilemma one year back. But now, I don’t regret my decision to join this college.
Upon entering MANIT, you’ll feel a bit unsure of your decision. But after some time, you’ll start to enjoy your time at this college. The infrastructure is poor, and the senior-junior interaction is stressed during the first few months. But your relations with seniors will eventually improve, and you’ll get ample time to pursue your interests while studying one the side.
The college clubs and societies will provide you with a platform to enhance your personality. You’ll become self reliant, and learn to get things done with limited resources.
The college is located in the center of Bhopal, and all the necessities are easily accessible. Bhopal has everything, from beautiful lakes to the lively New Market. You can enjoy tea at Mata Mandir, and also eat at fancy restaurants in the DB City Mall.
The 650 acre campus is especially beautiful during the rainy season, when there is greenery all around. The academics is good compared to other similar NITs. The labs are old, but the new classrooms are good. The college placements are great, and Bhopal will give you easy access to coaching centers for GATE, UPSC, CAT, etc.
MANIT Bhopal is a good place which offers ample freedom and lots of opportunities. You can consider this college for higher studies.
Why did MANIT Bhopal cutoff go down this year?
In 2017, all the NITS saw a drop in their cutoff ranks. The reason was the removal of class 12th boards percentage from JEE Mains rank calculation.
Here is a simple example to get my point across-
- Let’s assume there are 3 seats in IITs and 3 in NITs in 2016, and 26 candidates sit for JEE Advanced.This is how their ranks are placed-
A-1, B-2, C-3, D-4, E-5, F-6, G-7, and so on.
- Till 2016, a lot of top performers of JEE Advanced lagged behind in JEE Mains because of their boards percentage. This created an irregular pattern for the JEE Mains ranking. For example, the JEE Mains rankings of those very students could have turned out like-
C-1, D-2, E-3, B-4, F-5, A-6, H-7, and so on.
Now, A,B,C took the 3 seats in IITs, and D,E,F got into NITs. So, the cutoff for IITs was 3, and that for NITs was 5 ( as F was the last one to get into NIT, with rank 5 in JEE Mains).
- But in 2017, the JEE Mains rankings were quite similar to the JEE Advanced rankings. So, the rankings for those 26 students could look something like this in 2017-
B-1, D-2, A-3, C-4, F-5, E-6, K-8, and so on.
If A,B,C took IITs, and D,E,F got into NITs, the cutoffs for NITs was 6 ( as E with rank 6 was the last person to get in).
Here, the cutoff went down by 1 rank. But when lakhs of students attempt an exam, such a change brings down the cutoffs by hundreds and thousands.
This is the reason why MANIT Bhopal cutoffs went down from that year.
Is IMI delhi good for pursuing MBA in HR?
IMI Delhi has its flagship PGDM course wherein you can choose any specialization in the second year ranging from finance, marketing, and operations to HRM. Apart from this flagship course, IMI Delhi additionally offers a separate specialization program i.e., PGDM HRM (Human Resource Management).
Suitability: The program is targeted toward individuals keen to kickstart their careers in the HR domain.
Curriculum: The curriculum is industry relevant and is customized according to the recent trends in the industry. So unlike the regular PGDM, the HRM program lays more emphasis on core HR subjects. This basically means that tour core subjects will comprise more HR electives than general Management.
International exchange program: This program enables students from foreign universities to study with the students at IMI Delhi and vice Versa.

What is the total cost incurred in doing your MBA from NMIMS Mumbai?
The following answer is based on my brother’s experience at NMIMS and may vary from person to person depending on their own personal expenses and standard of living. The table below shows the NMIMS MBA fee structure.

From the above data the approximate cost is 26-27 Lakhs. The additional expenses like hanging out, fares, and miscellaneous activities can amount to 1 Lakh.
Now let’s consider you staying in a flat and not a hostel. The MBA fees remain the same. But the living expenses are considerably cut down. My friend lives in a flat with 5 people and shared her average expenses.
- The rental expense was 10k
- The security deposit was 1 lakh
- 6-8k per month for electricity bills and grocery shopping
- An additional 2-3k for hanging out
- The average auto fare would be 3k per month
- The rough average is 20k per month and if you calculate the same for 21 months it amounts to 4.2 Lakh.
The total expenses including tuition fees amount to 30-33 Lakhs. I think it’s better to go to a hostel than to a flat.
I've got CSE in NSIT, DTU, IIIT-D and NIT Surathkal, which one should I go for?
NIT Surathkal is better than Delhi engineering colleges like NSIT, DTU and IIIT Delhi because it offers a more diverse experience. Here are a few aspects to consider
- Reputation : NIT Surathkal enjoys the status of being an Institute of National importance and is fully funded by the Central government whereas DTU, NSIT, and IIITD are state government universities
- Research culture: NIT Surathkal has a rich research culture and facilities and is one of the institutes which is selected for funding from HEFA
- Academics : NIT Surathkal is a clear winner as its academic environment and curriculum are way better than Delhi colleges. Every year many students win International awards.
- Campus life: NIT Surathkal has a private beach with a lush green campus of 300 acres. Moreover, its crowd is much more diverse than Delhi colleges which have 85% quota for Delhites.
- Location : Situated near the IT hub, Bangalore NIT Surathkal students are exposed to more opportunities and a better IT environment. Many Bangalore IT companies give preference to NITK Surathkal students.
- Placements : NIT Surathkal achieves 100% placement and has a better variety of recruiters than Delhi colleges.
- Coding Culture: NIT Surathkal has received good rankings in the ICPC Asia Contest and every year many students are selected for Google Summer of Code.
- ROI : NIT Surathkal offers a better ROI because it charges lesser fees than NSIT, DTU, and IIIT Delhi.
So, it's safe to say NIT Surathkal is a much better option than Delhi colleges.
Are NPTEL courses compulsory for B.Tech AKTU?
No, NPTEL courses are not compulsory for B.Tech. In AKTU. These courses simply aim at adding qualitative knowledge among the students. In addition, every NPTEL course grants you extra 3 credits. If you are lagging behind in B.Tech. courses then NPTEL courses will definitely help you compensate for the loss.
So it can be said that for. B.Tech. student NPTEL courses are highly recommended but not compulsory.
Is Presidency University, Bangalore good for law?
Presidency University ranks 2nd in Karnataka when it comes to its Law School as announced by GHRDC ranking in 2019. The institute itself was founded in 2013 and is approved by the AICTE and UGC.
