Choose KMC or Ramjas college over SBSC because these are better options. When it comes to academics KMC and Ramjas are definitely better than SBSC. There are reasons why the required cutoff for these colleges is more than SBSC. KMC and Ramjas also have better rankings. Many times these colleges were featured among the top 10 colleges in India. Also, if you want to pursue higher studies like M.A in Economics from DSE, then being from DSE will help. As the student crowd is more competitive at the north campus.
What is better between an engineering degree from Mumbai University or from any autonomous institute like VJTI, KJ Somaiya or SPIT?
You may have confused SPIT (Sardar Patel Institute of Technology) with SPCE (Sardar Patel College of Engineering). SPIT is not an autonomous institute. The courses offered in SPIT are Computers, IT, Electronics, and Electronics and Telecom.

Also, autonomous colleges have better administration in MU. They have a better examination schedule, quick result release and you will have higher chances of securing a good CGPA.
Which should I choose: XLRI BM or IIM Kozhikode?
XLRI BM is the better option. It is an old B-School and ranks right after IIM A, B, and C. It has a large and varied alumni network. You will find XLRI alumni in almost every reputed companies.
XLRI BM has a smaller batch size. So, it’s easier for students to get decent job opportunities. XLRI placements are great. During the 2022 placement drive, the average CTC received by the students was INR 30 LPA.
Which should I choose between Jadavpur Univerity and IIEST Shibpur?
Here is some information on both these colleges. At the end, the choice is yours to make-
- Academics- The curriculum, faculty and labs for EE are good at both the colleges. But for CSE and ECE, JU is a far better choice.
- Teaching Quality- Even if some faculty members aren't up to the INI standards, they can’t be replaced as IIEST is a government college. Because of this, JU has a far better quality of teaching.
- Library- The reading room at IIEST is far better. It is huge with lots of databases and ample reading space. But JU has a far better digital library system.
- Infrastructure- The infrastructure at IIEST Shibpur is being developed at a good rate. Its hostels desperately need improvement and expansion.
- Placements- JU consistently outperforms IIEST in placements.
- Campus Life- IIEST Shibpur does not have a campus life, and senior-junior interaction is negligible. The campus is lifeless in this sense. JU has a vibrant campus life, but with so much happening on campus, you’ll need to draw your limits and not get diverted.
Both the colleges are good, but JU is the better choice.
Which is better, IIEST Shibpur or Jadavpur University?
To decide which college is better than the other, here are some things that you should consider. These parameters include the following.

- Changing Branch: One of the demerits of studying at Jadavpur University is that if you haven’t got your favorite branch after 1st year, after 3 WBJEE Counselling, spot round occurs depending on your WBJEE rank and that is the last chance to change your stream. Changing streams at IIEST Shibpur is a much easier procedure.
Both the institutes are the two legacies of this state and they both have produced extremely talented alumni. Though IIEST Shibpur does not have high placement records as of now one cannot predict what will happen after 4 years. So, don’t choose an institute solely based on the brand value. Just see if you are able to find the relevant stream or not. To get into one of these institutes, you really need a good score in WBJEE.
What is the correct admission procedure in Fergusson College Pune?

How can we get internships at IIT Bombay?
If you are a B.Tech 3rd-year student (or even in 2nd year) and you want to apply for an internship at IIT Bombay, the best way to do it is by contacting the professor. You need to follow certain steps to apply for the internship:
- Identify the area you want to work on. Make sure you have a good interest in the area, good knowledge of what is currently happening in your area of interest, a good grade in the subject, and a decent CGPA (or percent marks).
- Go through the website of IITB and the corresponding department. The website lists details of all the professors, their contact and the area of research. Identify the professor who is doing work in your area of interest.
- Prepare a good resume highlighting what you have achieved in the area you want to work on. If you are in the early or middle years of B.Tech you might not have too much to highlight on. In those cases, you can mention the good grades you got in the subject you want to work on. Even a seminar or presentation that you have taken related to the area will be a plus.
- Draft and send a mail to the professor. The mail should be catchy, crisp, and to the point. Don’t write too many and don’t write too less. Highlight what you want to do, why you want to do and what have you done so far. Attach your resume also. The professor may not reply to you for the first time. You can send a reminder mail maybe a week later. Even after sending a couple of emails if there is no reply, try calling. (Be careful here. Some professors don’t like directly calling them. You can call some of his students doing research under him and inquire. Normally his student details will also be on the website).
- Once you come under the notice of the professor, he might or might not have a phone interview and ask you to come as an intern depending on your performance.
- You need to get the consent of your college to do the internship at IITB. You can ask the professor about the formalities for it.
Though it seems simple to read, it will take a considerable amount of time, particularly finding a good professor. So, if you want to do an internship six months from now, you should start as soon as possible. You can always take the help of the faculties in your current B.Tech college. If there is any faculty who has direct contact with any of the professors in IITB, that will be the best way.
You can bypass all the above steps by getting a recommendation from the faculty. If you successfully complete an internship, it will make the professor happy, and he might be willing to give a recommendation letter, which is very valuable for your higher studies.
