NIT Durgapur is superior to NIT Jalandhar. NIT Durgapur is older than NITJ and thus has a larger alumni base. My sister was pursuing CS from BIET and she mentioned that the IT branch in the college is self-financed.
Students aiming for better salary packages and job opportunities have to work hard on their own. The complete dependence on the institute without much of your effort, will only provide you with the basic and comparatively lower salary package of 3 LPA.
