Which is better academically preferably CSE and ECE branch NIT Manipur NIT Meghalaya NIT Sikkim NIT Nagalad or Tezpur University?
NIT Meghalaya’s first batch had great placements not just in CSE but also in other branches. It has an awesome faculty and a great campus. Also, the tag of a NITian has a colossal worth.
If you are looking for great job opportunities, NIT Meghalaya and Nagaland will a good choice. But you should not expect dream placements. Tezpur University may offer a few IT offers but it is nowhere near NITs. You will get greater and better exposure in NITs rather than TU. For CSE, NITs have consistently had an edge over other colleges.
Presently, going to the NITs recorded here. The best among them for CS is NIT Meghalaya. The MHRD rankings have as of now shown this reality. NIT Meghalaya is 15th among all NITs, and tops in every one of the 11 new NITs. It has even outflanked NIT Silchar.
IIT Delhi or IIT Kanpur for electrical engineering? Also, I really dont know what my interest is in, how do I know if electrical engineering is right for me?
As far as the choice of the Institute is concerned, I will recommend you go for IIT Delhi instead of IIT Kanpur. Here are a few reasons that support my recommendation
- Ranking-wise, IIT Delhi Electrical is better than IIT Kanpur.
- Location-wise too, IIT Delhi fairs are better than Kanpur considering its central location. Moreover, it has the facilities of coaching institutes nearby, making it possible for students to prepare for higher exams
Coming to the choice of the branch, it might be difficult for some to identify their area of interest as of now. However, I can give you a slight info into both of the most preferred branches viz CS and Electrical.
CS: It comprises abstract math and algorithms. It involves step-wise problem-solving concepts wherein you get an answer after following a clear pattern. If this is your forte, then CS is for you.
Electrical: If you like playing with circuits and have an interest in dealing with graphs and their analysis, EE is for you.
As a side interest, you can always opt for open electives after the 2nd year that allows you to pursue more than one branch at a time. Truth be told, the packages offered to CS students are bigger than those offered to EE students.
Which is a better option? XLRI or JBIMS in all terms?
It’s difficult to determine which institute is better as the courses are not mentioned for the given college. However, given below are information about the colleges in all terms, which may help you make the decision.
XLRI, Jamshedpur:
The college was ranked 1st by the outlook in private colleges for the year 2020. It is a top-notch private college that offers 32 courses across five streams.
Courses offered:
The main course (called the flagship course) that is offered by the college is a two-year PG program in business management and HRM.
Admissions:
To get into this college for PGDM programs, the college accepts XAT and GMAT marks. The end of the selection round consists of group discussion and personal interview.
Faculty:
The professors who are present in the college are well versed in their area of specialization and have Ph.D. degrees.
Placements:

100% placement was recorded in the year 2020 for the PGDM course.

The highest salary went up to Rs 50 LPA and the lowest salary was Rs 21 LPA.
Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS):
The college is ranked as 24th for MBA by outlook in the year 2020. The college was one of the earliest business schools in India.
Courses offered:
Under the MMS program, there are various courses that are offered which include; finance, marketing, operations, HR, and systems.
Admissions:

To get admissions one should have a UG degree from any recognized university.

Candidates who give the paper for CAT and CMAT can also apply for the college.
Faculty:
The faculty of the college is well experienced and well versed in the subjects that they teach.
Placements:
For the academic year 2019, the placement for JBIMS, Mumbai saw significant growth from last year.

The highest salary went up to 32.30 LPA, an 8% increase from the previous year.

The median salary stood up to 20 LPA, an 18% increase from the previous year.

The top companies include J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., McKinsey & Company, Hindustan Unilever, the Boston Consulting Group, and Goldman Sachs.
Therefore, apart from the placements, both these colleges are more or less similar. But if one has to choose a college, they can look at the information given above.
What is the fee structure for a BTech in CSE at MNNIT Allahabad (also for the hostel and mess)?
For students with an annual family income of more than 5 lakhs, B.Tech CSE tuition fee per semester at MNNIT Allahabad is around INR 98,500. Hostel fee is included in these charges which is around INR 12,000 per semester.
The required fee varies depending on the category and family income. If your family income falls between 1-5 lakhs, then per semester fee will be around INR 56,833.
However, the mess fee at MNNIT Allahabad is fixed for everyone and it is INR 20,000 per semester.
Is MSc photonics in cusat a good course? What about the placements?
Photonics is one of the high-tech subjects that is evolved hugely in the last 20 years. It has applications in the areas of communications, computing, medicine, industry, defense, and entertainment. Having my friends from CUSAT enables me to provide you some valuable insights into the course.
MSc Photonics in CUSAT is a good course to do. It is emerging fastly as mentioned before and has a huge potential.
Integrated Course: One of the big advantages of choosing Photonics in CUSAT is that it is a 5-year integrated program compared to other institutes. This helps in dive deeper into the field of Photonics.
Interesting Electives: Another highlight of the program is the choice of electives they provide with the course.
Research Orientation: Students are subjected to a research atmosphere right from the start through the mini projects in the first and second semesters.
Good for Competitive Exams: The course is more inclined towards photonics and includes some important and interesting subjects like nuclear physics, etc. Having exposure to these subjects will help a lot while preparing for competitive exams.
Course Fee & Faculties: The college has excellent facilities and experienced faculty to guide you. The course fee is also quite reasonable.
Placements: When it comes to placements even though there are no direct campus placements many students are placed in many top companies like Varroc, HELLA, Valeo, Tech Mahindra, etc. Apart from the placements, many students opt for Ph.D. programs in many abroad institutes.
In short MSc Photonics at CUSAT is a wonderful course and you can definitely choose the program if you are interested in it.
What are the future prospects of MSc (Hons.) Chemistry from BITS Pilani?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of studying in AIIMS Jodhpur?
Some of the advantages of studying at AIIMS Jodhpur are academics at the same level as Delhi colleges, brilliant faculties, access to library and e-library, ragging-free campus, well-furnished single accommodation rooms, and decent mess food.
Disadvantages of AIIMS Jodhpur are its remote location and no outdoor life. Academic pressure leaves little room for enjoying college life.
Are new IITs (Tirupati and pallakad) good for CSE?
I belong to the first CSE batch of IIT Tirupati. We had it rough because of no senior guidance, and a sense of helplessness. But having said that, CSE is all about self effort and dedication. Whatever college you choose, you’ll feel a bit clueless till about your 3rd semester. But to get through, you need dedication and patience.
Now coming to your answer, IIT Tirupati is a good choice for CSE. You should consider this college if you couldn’t get into CSE at the old IITs. The reasons for this are-
- Some of the excellent faculty of IIT Madras still take a few core courses at IIT Tirupati.
- The CSE lab is well-equipped and Air Conditioned.
- The college library remains open till 9 pm.
- The hostels are quite nice.
Regardless of the IIT, it is your own efforts and the guidance of your mentors that will lead you towards success in any field.
How is the placement of M.tech Computer Science at MANIT Bhopal?
M.Tech CS students are offered good placement opportunities at MANIT Bhopal.
They are eligible for placement in all the leading brands that recruit from the CSE department. The companies that visit the department for placements are- Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Maq Software, Mu Sigma, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Hashedin, DE Shaw, Directi and Flipkart.
However, you’ll have to score at least 6.5-7 CGPA to be eligible for placement. Apart from the top brands mentioned above, TCS, Infosys and Nucleus Software also recruit candidates from M.Tech CS.
MANIT Bhopal offers really good placements for M.Tech CS, but the placement scenario is not good for other M.Tech specializations.
How is life at NIT Kurukshetra?
One of my friends at NIT Kurukshetra shared his experience while pursuing a BTech in ECE. The initial month was frustrating owing to the miserable mess of food and the language barrier he faced being a South Indian. In the second year, however, he realized that there was more to college life than just food. He discovered some very interesting subjects that fuelled his interest in the field. The third year again brought in some outdated courses however, he held up by exploring the areas of VLSI and Embedded systems.
Additionally, around 5 fests are held in one academic year comprising 3 cultural and 2 technical. These fests are organized by various clubs and societies of the college. You will experience real college life only after participating in and organizing these clubs. So, set your priorities right and make the most of the college life at NIT Kurukshetra.
