How strict is Vasavi College of Engineering?
There are some ground rules in Vasavi College of Engineering, which are as follows –
- College ID Card: No matter who you are if you don’t have a college ID you are not allowed to enter into college. In case If you lose/ forget it, you have to write a letter.
- Attendance: You have to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance. If you fail to do so you have to submit a medical certificate even if it is 1% less but if the attendance is below 65% it will be denied. There will be proctors who monitor your attendance once every few months and if It's not your day, then your parent/ guardian might receive a call.
- Punctuality: If you are late to college by 15 minutes, your ID card will be swiped which implies you will not be given first-hour attendance even if someone gives a proxy.
- No open gate system: You cannot come and go as you wish. Once you enter the college, you are not allowed to leave the college without permission during working hours. Nevertheless, you are allowed to go out during lunch hour from 2nd year.
If you find these rules to be strict, then you have to struggle initially to get accustomed. Once you get used to these, you will have a different perception from what you had initially.
Which is better for CSE, IIT Gandhinagar or IIT Ropar?
When it comes to IITs it’s not really easy to compare them especially when these both are of the same generation.
However, if you still need to compare it is important for you to understand that an undergraduate degree is more of an exploration to discover your passion and interest. This hypothesis has been vetted by a large number of IIT graduates, IIM graduates, and many professors and IIT alums.
Let’s take a few examples for a case in point.
- Dr. Raghuram Rajan, a top IIT alum studied electrical at IIT, followed up with an MBA at IIM and then a Ph.D. from MIT to become an economist.

Apart from that, IIT Gandhinagar has the most funds among the second generation IITs. It offers around 30–40% of the batch with options to pursue foreign internships and great research opportunities.
Location:
If you compare IIT Ropar with IIT Gandhinagar, the latter takes the trophy again because it is situated in Gandhinagar which is the capital of Gujarat. The campus sits in the vicinity of CM residence, Vidhan Sabha, ambitious GIFT City project, prominent institutes such as DAIICT, NIFT, and many others.
Placement:
Placements at IIT Gandhinagar is excellent. The first CSE batch graduated in 2020. Without CSE only, firms such as Nutanix, Goldman Sachs, ITC, Barclays, etc. have been recruiting at the campus.
Alumni:
IIT Gandhinagar has to date graduated about 600+ students from BTech and at least 80–90% of them are quite successful. You can see alums are working in firms such as Mckinsey, Microsoft in the US, Amazon, Apple, BCG, ATK, Google, Facebook, Goldman Sachs, ITC, PnG, to name a few. For these factors, CSE at IIT Gandhinagar is a better alternative.
How is the placement of chemical engineering at Jadavpur University?
I have a few friends from the Chemical Engineering department at Jadavpur University. According to them, the placement record from the branch has been good in recent years.
Some of the reputed companies that visit the campus for Chemical Engineering students are Cairn India, ITC, Axens, BPCL, etc. The packages offered for Chemical Engineering students range from 5-17 LPA. In the 2021 placement drive, the average CTC offered at the institute was 19 LPA.
How many students who study for an MBBS in AIIMS Delhi also pursue a PG in AIIMS Delhi?
After completing their MBBS from AIIMS Delhi students usually go for either of these things
- 40–50% go for PG in AIIMS Delhi itself
- 20% go for PGI Chandigarh
- 10 % go to government colleges.
Rest pursue their dreams or prepare for Civil. Recently, the majority of the batch is seen leaving India for higher studies in the US.

What are the benefits of an MA from IGNOU?
IGNOU is a central top-rated university in distance mode. It’s the best option for the ones who are willing to get a degree without actually attending regular classes. The degree, diploma, and certificates of IGNOU are recognised by AICTE, UGC and DEC approved. It has the same value as Delhi University.
MA degree from IGNOU will open opportunities for you in the field of teaching. Also if you are preparing for civil services, you can opt for the same subject for mains.
What is the minimum cutoff for admission in Delhi University?
The cut-off depends on your choice of course and college. It varies every year and it can be as high as 99% and as low as 40%.
To give you a rough idea of DU Cut off, you require at least 94% marks for admission to science subjects. For commerce stream courses like B.Com, you must have scored 94% in the top 4 subjects including a language.
On the other hand, the cut-off for Humanities subjects must be between 90-92%. If you are interested in doing Hindi (Hons) or Sanskrit (Hons), the cut-off is very low for these programs. You can easily get a seat at St.Stephens with 66% marks in Sanskrit (Hons).
For South Campus, you can reduce 2-3% from the ones mentioned above. Take a look at the previous year’s DU cut-off for better understanding.
How difficult is it to get into Sharda University through the SUAT (B.Tech)?
To get admission to Sharda University, students have to pass the entrance exam known as SUAT, which is conducted by the university.
The entrance exam, SUAT, is not an easy exam but it is not that tough like an IAS exam or JEE mains either. This exam is mandatory for everyone who wishes to get admission to this university and the questions asked in the exam are mostly the basic questions that you had already studied in your 11th and 12th.
You can easily manage to pass this exam if you have prepared well for the exam and have all your basics and concepts clear. Also, you will need at least 60% marks in your 12th to be eligible for admissions here.

Biomedical Engineering is a branch with immense potential and it offers a lot of possibilities in the area of research. Pursuing a Biomedical Engineering from NIT Rourkela has these benefits-
- NIT R has excellent infrastructure and campus. The college has clubs and sports facilities for students to engage in extracurricular activities.
- You will get endless opportunities in Biomedical at NIT R, including a chance at foreign internship if you maintain a decent CGPA. CGPA matters a lot during internship and placement drives.
- Biomedical at NIT Rourkela has a supportive faculty and well equipped labs.
However, very few core companies visit the NIT Rourkela campus for placements. But Biomedical students get opportunities for placement in Analytics and IT positions. Coaching institutes also consider Biomedical students during placements. If you work hard, you will get research opportunities in prestigious universities in India and abroad.
Thus, Biomedical Engineering from NIT Rourkela is a very good option for a career in research and the department has a good faculty and all the facilities.
Should I take IIT Gandhinagar CSE or IIT Guwahati ECE?
The choice of the institute between IIT Gandhinagar CSE and IIT Guwahati ECE depends if you want to follow the branch of your interest or want just go for the brand name of the institute.
If you value a branch more than a brand then go for the institute that offers the branch of your choice. If you are inclined towards CSE, then go for IIT Gandhinagar without much hesitation. Despite being a new IIT, it offers the IT tag and education at par with most IITs. Don’t let the fact that it’s a new IIT demotivate you. The students maketh the college and not vice versa.
But if you are bothered by the brand value and are hesitant about joining a new IIT, then go for IIT Guwahati.
