One of my friends pursued Mechanical Engineering from NIT Raipur. So, I know a little bit about the institute. Some of the most promising features I found about NIT Raipur are as follows:

• The faculty here is absolutely well trained, experienced and attentive to the particular needs of every student.
• Here you will experience a supportive environment and independent learning culture. A wide range of multiple competitions to take part in ensuring sportsmanship development. Attendance does not impact your marks that much.
• A lot of internships are offered to CS students in companies like UHG, SORROCO, WIPRO, to name a few.
• Off-campus placements and opportunities are offered. I know of a handful of students who got placed in Microsoft in off-campus placements.
• The claim of 100% placement is fairly correct with the average package being 3.5 LPA to 32.5 LPA on campus in companies such as Amazon, Samsung, UHG, Capgemini, Infosys, Wipro, Polaris, and more.
• The average CPI at NIT Raipur is 9+, thus making the scoring pattern very student-friendly. For all those preparing for CAT, these scores will be very beneficial.
• The lab facilities available at the institute are quite good. 
• The college also organizes coding competitions and hackathons. 
• It has a well-established alumni base across the country, as a student of the institute you will have access to that.
• NIT Raipur also offers branch sliding. 
• The closing rank for the IT branch is lower for both home state and other states as compared to CS. However, as a student of IT, you will enjoy the same opportunities as CS students. 
• NIT Raipur has a ‘one student, one placement’ rule. But there’s a team named ‘DREAM’. When the placement average for any branch goes over 75%, students are allowed to sit for dream companies i.e. the companies offering higher CTC.

Overall, IT at NIT Raipur is a good branch, with decent placement records.

Yes, it is good to opt for a BA Hons English in Amity University, Noida. The eligibility to take admission in the course is 10+2 with a minimum of 70% in English for non-sponsored and 60% for the sponsored category. The course fee is Rs 3 lakhs for the first year.

The institution has 16 well qualified and experienced faculties. The majority of them are alumni of central universities such as Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, etc. The approximate student-faculty ratio is 17 students to 1 teacher.

The infrastructure of the institute is quite good. The institute provides free Wi-Fi facilities and a library with over 2,00,000 books, journals. There is also an online digital library. The institute provides a good audio-visual laboratory for students.

Graduates can avail jobs in both public sector as well as private sector. Some of the major career opportunities for English graduates are Teacher, Policy Analyst, Writer, Editor, Publisher, Research Communicator, Public Relations Officer, Speech Writer, Blogger, Arts Administrator, Content Development Manager, etc. Top recruiting companies at Amity University for BA (Hons.) English graduates are Intra-amity, IMS, Sage Publications, media channels like Aaj Tak, Zee News, Star News, IBN7, etc.

One of my friends was in the same situation at the time of his counseling. He had this doubt and I am sure many of the people would have it too. I will note down the pros and cons of these two colleges so you can take an unambiguous decision.

IIIT Allahabad:

Pros:

• IIIT Allahabad has a huge campus and it’s beautiful over there. In terms of campus, IIIT Allahabad is definitely better than MNNIT Allahabad. 
• IIIT Allahabad is known for its coding culture.
• You will not be taught anything unnecessary like teaching engineering drawing to a CS student.

Cons:

• The faculty base is not that great. Sometimes even seniors take the classes. 
• The timetable along with the assignments becomes very hectic at times.
• It is also a new institute. 

MNNIT:

Pros:

• MNNIT is a very old college and has a rich alumni base.
• The placements are amazing if you are persistent with your hard work and studies.
• The faculties are good apart from a few. 

Cons:

• The campus is small as compared to IIIT Allahabad also; the sports facilities are also just not that good.
• If you are looking for a good coding culture then it's here too but far less than IIIT Allahabad.
• You will need to study some subjects no matter which branch you belong to in the first year.

So this pretty much sums up these colleges. The final decision is yours, compare and choose wisely. 

According to my friends studying at Haldia Institute of Technology, yes there is a uniform code. You may feel a bit disappointed after knowing that you will have to wear a uniform to go to college, but the uniform keeps on changing. 

• Earlier the uniform was changed every 4 years but now there are three different uniforms for freshers, 2nd & 3rd year and for the seniors. 
• The dress code for 4th-year students is navy blue pants with blue & white stripes shirts along with a tie. 
• For 2nd & 3rd year students, the dress code is black pants with red + deep blue + yellowish cream-colored striped shirt along with a tie. 
• For the freshers, the dress code is black pants with pink & white colored shirts along with a tie. 
• The freshers will be provided with uniforms within 2 months since the commencement of their semester. Till then, you can wear formal clothing. 

Hence, there is a rule of wearing a uniform to the college for every student. But currently, there are three different uniforms provided to freshers, seniors and 2nd & 3rd-year students. And you will have to wear your assigned uniform every day without any excuses.
