Is ragging a big issue in NITC?
Yes, there are some ragging issues at NIT Calicut but it is not serious.
- When you arrive on the campus, there will be a casual junior-senior interaction. You should try to get associated with the seniors of your state, it is important to listen to them and also act a little bit of jolly with them.
- They can ask you to do some tasks for them. Once you get in their side, you can do anything on the campus. This is often referred to as State in.
- Then, there is State out, where you will need to work harder a bit more. You may not get a fresher party but will definitely have some peace of mind.
In the end, you should need not fear the ragging because the seniors cannot do anything serious as NITC has strict measures against that.
Where should I take an admission, BIT Mesra or BIT Sindri?
You should get admission to BIT Mesra. It has better recognition in the industry. During 2022 placements, more than 235 recruiters took part in BIT Mesra placements. The institute boasts of an average CTC of INR 13.01 LPA. The highest national CTC offered last year was INR 58.33 LPA.
Being a regional college, BIT Mesra has an excellent student crowd.
Which is better, IIT Roorkee or NIT Trichy?
Both IIT Roorkee and NIT Trichy are highly respected institutions in India, known for their academic excellence and research opportunities. In terms of ranking, IT Roorkee is currently ranked higher than NIT Trichy in most national and international rankings.
Overall, NIT Trichy is ranked 21 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022 by NIRF IIT Roorkee ranks 7 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022.
By choosing IIT Roorkee you will be attaching yourself to the IIT Tag for the rest of your life which undoubtedly will help you in shaping your career.
Both institutes offer equally good exposure and facilities in terms of infrastructure. So it’s better you find the driving force within you. Determine your area of interest and then go for the branch that is best in either of the institutes. Don’t let your relatives or friends make the decision for you.
How difficult is it to get into MICA?
For MICA's GE-PI process, two test-scores are always considered before they shortlist any candidate. After that, you should clear any of the following- CAT; XAT or GMAT. You must essentially also manage to crack the written exam of MICA itself - MICAT.
This might look and sound difficult and a rather intimidating task, that you have to go through two competitive level exams to get in. You would be able to keep track of the level of your knowledge via Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. Therefore, you must understand that it is vital to chalk out a plan and a strategy.
Interestingly, MICAT comprises two different sections which are - Psychometric and Descriptive. This isn't a part of your regular CAT/XAT/GMAT. What's unique isn't the fact that this particular section sets aside students from MICA and B-school graduates.
Here's a brief overview of Psychometric and Descriptive sections -
- Descriptive - This section requires candidates to answer questions based on their story-telling abilities and check how well they manage to analyse and handle situations under sheer pressure and stress.
- Psychometric - A qualifier for the assessed test - this section is such that if you fail in answering even one question, know that your paper will not be considered and hence, would not be evaluated. Right or wrong aspects do not matter in this section but it takes away an impression of the way you function your mind which renders an impression about you too.
Talking about B-school graduates is pretty straightforward. Once they are shortlisted, they would stick to GDs or else WATs as their second option. While MICA does this. It administers a group exercise checking the candidate's leadership, teamwork and creative side. And by the time you reach the PI, you would go through a number of different experiences.
The path to MICA is indeed difficult and intimidating at times, but if you have already made up your mind to reach there by staying persistent in your efforts, you would definitely be successful. Once you're there, your life will turn around for good.
What happend on your first day at IIIT Allahabad?
My brother attended IIT Allahabad. His first day was normal and hectic with all the admission procedures and formalities. But his first-class experience was quite amusing. Here is how it went.
One or two days after admission, he is taking the campus tour with our parents. While entering CC - 3 (Computer Center -3), my father casually asked the guard, ‘Where are the classrooms for freshers?’ To this question, the guard replied the classes have started from that day only from 10 A.M.
It was around 10:25 A.M by then and my brother had no idea or any notebook with him. My parents kind of pushed him to attend his first class anyway. He was already 30 mins late. He took a quick peek at the class and according to him, the professor looked lenient. So, he took a chance and tried to sneak in quietly. Nonetheless, the professor saw him and asked, ‘Are you 30 mins late for this class or 30 mins too early for the next one?’ In response, the whole class burst out in laughter.
Later he got to know the said professor was the HOD of the Mathematics department. Needless to say, it was quite a start for my brother.

Why are the closing ranks of Thapar University going so low? Is the level of the institute degrading?
According to my brother who studied in Thapar mentioned that closing rank is not an indicator for the degradation of the institute.
- Thapar University is considered one of the most prestigious colleges for engineering in the country.
- It provides innumerable facilities and opportunities to all the students.
- The ranks depend largely upon the level of the question paper designed. Previously, most of the candidates got a rank above 50,000, due to consideration of board percentages.
Last but not least we can say that closing rank does not define the college. The college continues to impart the knowledge and gives decent placement opportunities along with internship offers, which still attracts students.
I want to take an admission in FORE School of Management, Delhi. What are the criteria for that?
You should consider applying to FORE School of Management, one of the top management institutes in Delhi NCR. 80% of placements for the 2023 batch have been completed, with the highest salary being Rs. 23 LPA and the average salary being Rs. 14.5 Lakhs.
To be eligible for admission, you must have a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA. You must also register for CAT 2022/XAT 2023 or GMAT and score well to become eligible for admission. If you are appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination or have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results, you are also eligible to apply for FORE Admission. If you are provisionally considered eligible by FORE School of Management and offered admission, it is mandatory to submit the mark sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination by the stipulated date.
The admission process for the two-year full-time PGDM programs at FORE School of Management consists of five stages.
- The first step is to submit the application to FORE.
- The second one is to take the CAT-2022/XAT-2023/GMAT examination.
- In the third step, the shortlist is prepared based on the CAT/XAT/GMAT score.
- The fourth step involves checking your call, date, and venue for the "Final Selection Round."

Which one is better: aerospace engineering in IIT Kanpur, aerospace engineering in IIT Madras, mechanical engineering IIT BHU, or ECE in IIT BHU?
I am a student of B.Tech Aerospace at IIT Madras. IIT Madras is a top engineering institution in India, and a degree from here can easily land you an offer to complete your higher education in Ivy League colleges (if you are among the top 10% in your batch). You may even land a job offer at prestigious institutions like ISRO once you graduate.

It is evident from the following data that in terms of placements, the Mechanical and Electronics branches of IIT BHU are better. But if you have the slightest interest in Aerospace Engineering, IIT Madras will open plenty of opportunities for you in this sector.
If research/higher studies interest you, IIT Madras is the best option due to its superior reputation. You’ll get to work at some of the best organizations like HUL, ISRO, and DRDO. Moreover, you’ll be exposed to world-class infrastructure, and some of the best professors.
So if you have an interest in Aerospace Engineering, I would suggest you opt for IIT Madras over all the other options.
Which exam is tough to crack the AIIMS PG or the PGIMER Chandigarh?
AIIMS is definitely the better option. There are many reasons why it is the superior choice. One of them is the competition. You will be competing with lakhs of students to get selected. This entrance examination is trickier than all other entrances. Irrespective of how well-prepared you are, you are likely to get stuck between choices in the examination.
PGIMER has a standard examination pattern. They usually aim to test how thorough you are. Also, the competition is much less. Since around 15000 or fewer people appear in the examinations.
