Sharda University and Dronacharya College of Engineering have both been established around the same time and while Sharda University is approved by UGC, Dronacharya College of Engineering is AICTE approved. B.Tech. programs, especially CS, is one of the most demanded courses at these institutions.

Major job sectors for CS graduates include Engineering firms, academic institutions, Sales and Marketing firms, IT/Software Companies, etc. Graduates work as Software engineers, application developers, hardware engineers, and many more.

• Sharda University: 80% of students were placed overall. The highest salary package received is INR 65 LPA. 350+ recruiters, like Amazon, Videocon, Asian Paints, L&T, etc, recruit graduates from the university.

• Dronacharya College: Approximately 66% of students were placed in companies such as OYO, TCS, Zscaler, Capgemini, Wipro, Adobe, L&T, HSBC, UrbanClap, etc. The highest package offered to CS graduates was INR 10 LPA.

The aerospace engineering department at IIEST Shibpur offers students with aerospace engineering as well as applied mechanics. Students always get confused as they often ask if the academic choices get bound to aerospace engineering only. But you could have used copper for studying structural and fluid that are two main aspects of applied mechanics as well. Labs and facilities are still not fully constructed, but once they are constructed, they are going to enhance the department's performance a lot. No core company visited the campus to hire the students studying in the Aerospace department because most of the core Aerospace companies ask for an M.Tech degree in aerospace engineering as the minimum qualification.
