Remarks
The college is just 5 km away from the city and is one of the most accessible engineering college in Kerala. The space will be one of the negative aspects of the college. The college is inside 6 acres of land, but that has only made college students unite together for everything. Space doesn't reduce the quality of other things provided in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college is under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). Every 4 years, the curriculum is updated. The course is divided into 8 semesters. There is end semester exam every 4-5 months. Also, there are two internal exams conducted and evaluated by the college which accounts for internal marks that gets finally added to your overall mark in end semester examination.
Placement Experience
Placements is one of the reason you should opt for SCTCE. SCTCE have a very active placement unit and in every year more than half of the final year students are placed in reputed IT and non IT firms.
College Events
Being in Kerala, Onam is the most celebrated festival in college. Also, the college celebrates Holi. Cult A Way is the national level annual techno-cultural fest of the college and is one of the best fests in Kerala which spans for 3-4 days.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Merit seats costs less than management seats. NRI seats are the costliest ones. Tuition fee for a student allotted in merit quota is Rs 35000/annum. For management quota, it is Rs 65000/annum. There are addition fees to be paid for library, arts and exams too, but they all will only come under Rs 7000/annum. The college only collects fees annually and no additional fees are brought after that.
Fees and Financial Aid
College supports any scholarship (national, state and district level). Also, college annually provides scholarship for 3 students from economically backward. PTA of college also provides scholarships if you score high marks in your end semester exams.
Campus Life
Extra curricular activities are very much promoted in the college. The college has a list of many active clubs. The college has a design club, IEEE chapter, ASME chapter, aerospace club, literary and debate club, photography club, NSS, Innovation and Entrepreneurship development cell, go-kart racing club, and film club. Sports are also promoted.MIT mini-fab lab is also there.
Alumni/Alumna
SCT has a wide alumni network and they are pretty active. They award faculty and students annually according to performance. They also help in infrastructure development of college. SCTCE alumni work on different parts of the world.
Admission
The college takes students mainly through KEAM, a state level entrance exam conducted by CEE Kerala. You have to get a good rank in KEAM entrance exam for getting a seat in SCTCE. The college is under Kerala State Road Transport Corporation and is of Gov.t Self Financing type. There are merit seats as well as management, NRI and KSRTC quotas. You score good in KEAM, merit seat will be allotted. You can also opt for Management quota using KEAM score. The CEE Kerala conducts centralised allotment for all engineering colleges in Kerala according to rank list of KEAM. You can opt for the college when option for allotment starts. Once CEE gives allots you the college, you can go to college and take admission.
Faculty
The college faculty are experts in their subjects and are willing to help students in curriculum to extra curricular activities. Most of them have done their Phd's in IIT's and NIT's. Especially with projects, they are the best to guide students.
