Remarks

Positive : facilities, labs, cleanliness, knowledge of staff Negative: staff attitude, lack of placements, and specially backward thinking, college is a place were both girls and boys would meet be friends and be as one, no discrimination, but here, specially in mechanical, they don't allow girls and boys to sit together, even if they see u being friendly with a girl, u would be called to HOD cabin and warning would be given to stay away, mechanical staff is more of like bajrang dal then teachers

Course Curriculum Overview

4

BE course was good, it was vast and covered huge amount of detail field oriented knowledge, but mainly 95% knowledge was theoretical, way less practical skills developed, and course was way too much deviated to ideal scenario and thus industries aren't easily accepting us, we are blamed to be not appropriate, summing it up, course do need a rebuild from scratch to ensure practicality is integrated within it

Placement Experience

0.5

No internship provided, placement for mechanical included 4 sales job, out of which only 1 was sales of automobile, which is somewhat related to us, and 1 core, in which to only 1 person got selected out of 150 attended, summing up, too poor

College Events

0.5

Ojus - annual fest with dance singing and price distribution for sports Annual sports - included football, Cricket, throwball, kabbadi, chess, badminton table tennis, volleyball, special grounds were arranged for the same, we didn't have a big campus so

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible comparing to other engineering colleges, 1.06 lakhs, our final year fees, and amenities provided for that fees was good, labs were maintained and cleanliness was maintained, classrooms were big enough and had good ventilation for non AC labs

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship provided, just followed the norms of University to admit 5% ebc students, so we had 4 in total so their fees were 10th of what we paid, although requested to include scholarship for the topper every year, we had this scheme in diploma college, toppers next year fees was exempted

Campus Life

4

Labs were perfect, all new accessories and up to date, even more then the required for curriculum, sports event were also very good, among the best i had witnessed, ground organised was huge and was perfect for all sports organised yearly, also had many options in indoor and outdoor sports to play

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students were helpful, specially for notes and tips, all very friendly, nothing like senior attitude, all of us were like a family, also students were actually more encouraging and motivating then the teachers, no fights, always lived as one big family

Admission

I did diploma in mechanical engineering from muchhala polytechnic, there was a form by dte to be filled for direct second year admission in mumbai University colleges, we got the form centre name thakur polytechnic, filled it, in it we had to give choices that is college name we wished to join, i personally kept 9 choices for college, it was important to keep a college in which we had full chance of admission by reviewing previous years merit list for safety purpose, A P shah was tha safety college i had kept, i got admission only in that college out of 9 through merit

Faculty

2.5

Faculty was good, they had good knowledge and were also fine in teaching skills, but they had a ego problem, specially way more compared to what i saw in diploma course, they were non supportive for non curricular activities, and they never encouraged new ideas

The campus placement is decent in the college as compare to other colleges of the city . many companies visited the college every year to hire the skillful engineers from the college and offer them a good amount of package. The option of the offcampus palcement is also there for the students of the other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
