Remarks

Initially Sastra seems to be very confined and may look like lacks exposure but once we set in we are open to a lot of opportunities. We can easily balance between social, cultural as well as, acedemic life.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The first year seems quite general and not relevant to the opted course. The curriculum tends to be more relevant once 2nd year starts. Although being old and revised less frequently, the curriculum provides good understanding of the concepts. The exam structure is 3 internal tests and 1 semester test for each semester.

Placement Experience

4

Our college aims for 100% placement and every year achieves it. They provide good training before placements to help with the competitiveness. Internships are of personal interest. If we get an internship and is relevant to the course of study we are allowed to pursue.

College Events

5

Carpediem - Intra college cultural activity fest. Utsav- intra college technical activity fest. Kuruksastra- Inter college cultural extravaganza. Daksh- intra college technical fest. These four are the major events and there are many other smaller events happening throughout the year in out campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's quite feasible when compared to other similar colleges. For general admission we pay Rs 60000 for each semester And for NRI we pay $5000 for first year and $4000 for the year after. Apart from the tuition fee we have hostel fee which is maximum of Rs 26000.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college does provide scholarship to certain reasons. Our college has partnered with selected banks for easy loan approval. All of these processes are taken care of during the admission process itself.

Campus Life

4

Sastra is known for its academic and equally equally excellent extracurricular activities. The cultural team of Sastra university is one of the best and tends to be overall champions of almost all the culturals we participate in and so are the sports teams.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel infrastructure is not extremely great but not bad either. Depends on the hostel being selected the facilities and the food changes and so does the hostel fee. Certain hostels provide extra infrastructure like badminton court etc. And we have a common gym. Only one hostel among 5 has attached bathroom.

Alumni/Alumna

We have easy access to alumnus details and can contact them easily Incase of any need. The alumnus are extremely supportive and are really helpful. They help in issues related to post graduation really well.

Admission

NRI admission, I got admitted into Sastra through NRI quota, since I studied my higher secondary in Saudi arabia, I was asked to submit my school records and proof for being NRI. I was also asked to produce an NRI bank account proof and was finally admitted.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college are really understanding and helpful. They are all qualified and fit for the job. They provide good support. Not every faculty teaches the same way. All of them have their own ways and standards of teaching.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
