Remarks

One of the Best Medical Colleges in West Bengal. It's the oldest Medical College in Asia. Many eminent doctors were the students of this college. Like Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, Dr. Nilratan Sircar, Dr. R.G.Kar and the list doesn't end. Various new technologies are invented in our college in field of Surgery, Medicines, Gynaecology. And everywhere Medical College Kolkata remains the Guide.

Placement Experience

5

Everyone passing out from this college will become a doctor surely and must get a job. So you can say it's 100% placement. Because it's not like Engineering college, here job is based on clinical knowledge, not CGPA. Yes, this college provide internship facility. Internship is of 1 year. There are various types of work in internship and one must complete duties in all the respective departments in one year. This time students face actual pressire of work. Sometimes they remains sleepless for 36 hours in a go. Because serving patient becomes the first priority for all the junior doctors. Stipend is around Rs 23500 INR.

College Events

4.5

There're various events celebrated in our college. First of all our, annual festival- Rhapsody is celebrated every year for 5 days. Various kind of events and competitions are held there like- Dancing, singing, Drama, Band performance, Beauty pageant, Fashion walk, writing, and a lots more.near about 50 events altogether. There's performances of eminent artists at night everyday. We call it Guest performances. Like- KK, Papon, Local Train, Anupam Roy and lots more, I can't finish. Other events like, Alapan, freshers are held. There are 5 clubs in our college-Photography, Nature, Dance-Drama, Speech and Debate, Fashion. I myself is the current moderator of our photography club.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Bery much feasible, it's only 4500 per semester. As it's a Government college, you need to expense much. Not like private colleges, you just need money to buy books and your extra spends. 4500 in 6 months is not a big deal for students I guess.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yeah. I heard of some facilities like that. One of my friend avails that most probably. But I was never offered anything like that. And I don't know clearly what are the facilities or any loan provided by the college or not.

Campus Life

4

Plenty of extracurricular activities are available. As I previously mentioned there are 5 clubs- Nature, Photography, Dance-drama, Speech-Debate, Fashion. Labs are also available in various departments. We don't have a personal playground inside the campus.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

All the students doesn't get hostel. The old buildings are in comparatively bad conditions but new buildings are super and well decorated. I'll rate the facilities and infrastructure of Hostel as 4.8/5 for newer ones and 3.5/5 for older ones. In total there is 5 hostels for UG boys. And 1 for Girls. PG students' hostels are different.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are extremely helpful as well as the ex students. There's a room called 'Ex students association' where the alumni meet frequently. The senior-junior relationship is like a family. They help in every aspect of college life.be it studies or any daily life problems. One just can't imagine of this level of fraternity from outside.

Admission

I passed the HS exam from West Bengal Board Of Higher Secondary Education then applied for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination and ranked 49 in that examination. This college currently provide 250 seats (along with reservations) for UG students. After that we went under a counseling procedure and got this college in the first chance in 2015 as it was my first choice. Then I went under a verification process and then got admitted to this college.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are truly helpful and very much students' friendly. They are highly qualified and teaches the whole syllabus thoroughly. Every department has a plenty of faculties. There's division of HOD, professor, Assistant professor like that. All of them are extremely genius and good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
