Remarks

Nothing much to Complaint. One of the Best Universities in Tamilnadu and Enjoy my stay and College life here. A very nicely situated environment. Though the college is not very big, it satisfies all the needs for a student within the Campus and I am proud to be a student at SASTRA !

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our college has a curriculum on par to that of IIT syllabus. Three Cumulative Internal Assessment (CIAs) each of 50 marks is conducted for each semester and the best 2 out of the 3 CIAs are considered for Internals 50 marks along with 10 marks for assignment. Remaining 50 marks is from Final Semester exam (100 converted to 50)

Placement Experience

3.5

As all other instituitions there is 100 % placement for students above CGPA of 6. Most of the companies that come for recruitment is from the IT sector and other Core based companies are very few in number. No, College does not provide any internships.

College Events

4

Department fests for each department occurs frequently. CARPEDIUM(Cultural), UTSAV(Technical), FEURA(Sports and Games) are some of the intra college events. There is DAKSH - Inter college Technical fest, one of the Top 5 in South India, There is COLOSSEUM - Inter college Sports and Games fest, Last but not the least KURUKSASTRA - an enigmatic inter college cultural fest !

Fee Structure And Facilities

The Fee structure is not very high as that of other private colleges. There is no management Quota for any branch. For engineering, the fee for 1st semester is Rs. 60000 and an increment of 5% for every semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

Top 2% students from each department are selected based on their CGPA and are given Scholorship worth Rs.26000. Next 8% of the students are given a scholarship worth Rs.13000. Other scholorships for Hostel is given based on Attendence and a 7.5 CGPA without any black marks.

Campus Life

3.5

There is team for almost all the sports and Sports are given good importance. Labs are great with Research facilities that worths for lakhs. Other extracuricullar activities include NCC, NSS, SCORE, Upahar(Helping hands for the needy) Plasmodium(Blood donation organization).

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is not one of the Best things at SASTRA. It satisfies the basic needs for a pleasant stay., Nothing else bigger. The facilities available are 24 hrs Electricity, Water, Wifi(Only for registered Laptops), Hot and cold water dispenser.

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah, Some of the Alumni are at a respectable status in the society and they visit the college once in a while and the interaction with them have been very much useful. There is nothing like ragging, And the seniors are very much helpful and humble. Again there are exceptions.

Admission

The college does not have any specific entrance exam. The students are admitted based on 2 streams. Stream 1 - JEE MARKS 75% + 12TH MARKS 25% (80% of seats) Stream 2 - 12th Marks (20% of seats). Students are called for counseling based on the cumulative ranking ! And the counseling lasts for 5 to 6 rounds.

Faculty

3.5

The Quality of teaching is one of the best in Tamilnadu. The faculties are not very strict and are easily approachable. All the faculties are PHD pursued professors and are researching in a particular domain of their specialization.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
