as per my personal opinion, SDMCET is one of the best and old private institute in Karnataka.It provides all the facilities essential to build one's career.It also focuses on one's overall development including personality.This college helps to boost up your level and competitive nature.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum in Engineering is vast.There are more than 50 courses to cover in total of 8 semester.In our college,There are 3 internal exams of 20 marks in each subject.best of 2 will be considered.10 marks are provided as CTA by course instructor.20+20+10 makes 50% of your marks in a subject.Rest 50% will be evaluated by End Semester Exam.Apart from mandatory course,one can also opt for elective subject of his/her choice.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are very good in IT sector.Almost everyone pursuing IT Engineering get placed.Though companies in non IT sector are very few.For IT field ,companies like Informatica,Radisys,Oracle,Sony visits our campus.Accenture is the mass recruiter company of this college providing an average package of 4.5 lpa.For non IT field,ACC cements and Some local companies or small start up visit the campus.Average package is 4 LPA.
College Events
Insignia-It's an intercollege Technical and Cultural fest organized in SDMCET campus.Participants from every VTU colleges participate in this fest. More than 80 events are there. Fiesta-Cultural fest.SDMCET students participate in this fest.Outsiders are not allowed. Fresher party,DJ nights,hackathon,devil's night like many other fest are organized by our college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
for comed-K ,college fee is 1.5 lakh per year and 40000 is for Kcet qualifier.Management quota is also available.It's fee is around 7-9 lakh per year.overall fee is feasible if you compare with other private colleges.
Fees and Financial Aid
state government scholarships are provided.Also,Loans from any bank is granted.Though Karnataka Bank is preferable more.College itself provide scholarships for Economical backward students but only for students who live in Karnataka.
Campus Life
There are many groups for dramatics ,singing and dancing.Astitva,Pratibimb,Rapbot,Antaranga are the well known groups in the college.These groups has won many award performed in various colleges of India.For sports,Basketball and cricket teams are there.Each and every year, VTU organizes tournament in which they participate.Technical groups like Robotics are also there which participate in various hackathons and technical events.Labs are well equipped.There is no restrictions to access the lab facilities.College has a central libray facility Almost every book is available.It remains open for 20 hours in a day.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel fee is around 30000 and mess costs 20000 extra.Rooms are good.There are 3 types of room available-Share,Non shareable rooms with comman bathroom and Non shareable room with attached bathroom.Prices vary with choice of room.Mess food is good and hygienic.They also serve north indian food.Hostel is complete wifi enabled.Amenties like room cleaning,RO drinking water and hot water is provided.
Alumni/Alumna
Our alumnus are in major companies like Microsoft,Amazon.They visit our campus often and guide all the students for their career.College also helps in establishing your own start up.Alumnus are really helpful.Our alumnus also recommends students to their respective company.Seniors are also helpful and guide in learning.
Admission
I got admission through Comed-K.If you live in Karnataka then,you can also get admission through K-CET.First of all,you need to secure a good rank in the Comed-K or K-CET.According to rank,college will be decided.
Faculty
Faculties are very good.Mostly all of them are experienced professors having atleast 10 years of experience.Also,They guide for placement activities.Department organizes some events which is essential from placement as well as start-up perspectives.
