Remarks
Top administration of of the institution was not supportive. They were reluctant to new programs and innovative ideas or making the college infrastructure better. Some lecturers are not well qualified or even don't know how to behave to students
Course Curriculum Overview
The course contains several papers from different subjects. There was language papers at the first two semesters. Specialisation subjects (I chose CA( Computer Applications as specialisation) were studied at the last 2 semesters. There was papers related to Economics, IT, Maths. etc along with primary subjects such as Accounting and Business Studies. The exam was conducted at different colleges across the district. Notifications about the exams and time tables was given in the website of the university.
Placement Experience
There wasn't college recruitment for SDE students. But the B. Com course have a vast scope in the field of commerce. As every companies need executives with adequate knowledge of accounting, entrepreneurship and business. There will be a need of additional courses which specify on computerised accounting and management for more job opportunities.
College Events
college Day Anniversary Art fest Exhibitions. etc. Several art, cultural and academic events are conducted. The anniversary and art festivals were excellent. Several exhibitions related to art, culture, business were conducted
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. SDE courses aren't much expensive. Average semester fees came below rs 6000 including examination fees. There were another small charges for conducting events. Fees are paid at each semesters as installments.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't really know about any loans provided by the institution. There were scholarships for scheduled students such as SC ST and OBC (other backward classes ). There are scholarships based on academic excellence.
Campus Life
There were art, sports, science festivals and various programs which emphasizes on extra curricular activities. There were college magazines published every year, various student and teacher org. Such as film club, art club. etc. Students were pretty good, secular and modern. There were campus politics.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are overall good. There were some issues related to ragging. But it wasn't that offensive or abusive. There were alumni groups who helped conducting various programs at the college. There were some junior senior fights but it never gone wrong.
Admission
I chose b. com because i was a former commerce student. I applied for SDE (School of Distance Education) of Calicut University with necessary documents after approval there was contact classes which was overall good. Study material were also available in the official website of Calicut University.
Faculty
Teachers were decently qualified. Infrastructure was above average. Faculties available for teaching were not that good. As I selected CA as specialisation there wasn't adequate number of computer systems. Teachers with good technical knowledge about computers were less
