Entrance Preview
I had took VEE that is vels entrance examination which is conducted by vels university during every year to admit students to various course. I had choose to study pharm D- Doctor of pharmacy. I got admitted through entrance exam and the admission process is very simple. Had visited the University with the offer letter received at my address and other relevant documents for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for my Pharm D course was framed by the pharmacy Council of india (PCI). The University have very well experienced faculty to teach us our course and all other facilities are also provided by the University. Currently the University was graded with B Grade by the UGC for its standards.
Internships Opportunities
The internship period for my 6 year course is during our 6th year. And currently iam in my 4th year. The college have tie ups with several multi speciality hospitals for the ward rounds from 2nd yr onwards and for the internship for the Pharm D students during the 6thyr of the course. The stipend offered during the 6th year of our course is Rs. 5000 per month as per the PCI regulations.
Placement Experience
As Pharm D is a new course in india the job opportunities are not well defined so far. The placements are done by the University last year and some of our senior students got placed. And looking over all to various course available in the University it provides a big opportunity to its students, and many companies are visiting the University .
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for the PharmD course is Rs.1,50,000/- per year, which can be paid as two instalments. And the fee structure varies from course to course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The University provides scholarships during every year to its meritorious students of various departments. And state and central government scholarships are also availed by various students time to time. The necessary documents to avail the bank loans will be provided by the University up on request.
Campus Life
Its a very good life over here in vels university, Students here do participate in extra curricular activities. The labs here are well maintained and equipped. Inter college sports days are also conducted every year to encourage the students. Workshops are conducted by every departments then and there.
