Remarks

My college wasn't great. But compared to other colleges in my locality it was really good in terms of study environment and public reputation. It has decent infrastructure and good faculty. So it's a good choice for all middle class family nearby.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

This college is under the University of Burdwan and the exam structure at my time weren't good according to me. It was a 3 year degree course and not a semester based one. And the every year we had to sit for the final exam. If anyone failed to score good marks then the only option he/she got is to re appear. But the process of declaring result is really bad and slow, such that you won't know if you're going to fail or pass but you may have to sit for next exam just to be sure(if you're confident enough then it's okay). But things have changed now. It seems they're improving.

Placement Experience

1

Bad would be understatement. This university is not know for its placement. As this university is dominated by normal courses and not technical courses, no public company comes here for their recruitment process.

College Events

2

Every year there are mostly 2 major programs, one is freshers program and the other one is annual function. Both are celebrated by its students and faculty alike. Well known or a bit unknown but good performers are invited to perform.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for most of the courses are feasible for most of the students. Science courses are generally a bit on the expensive side but compared to private institutions it's not that much.

Fees and Financial Aid

There exists some fee waiver system, like the half fee and the full fee waiver for students from economically weaker families. Not only that students can avail various government and non government scholarships.

Campus Life

3

There are annual sports but not many students participates in that. and it seemed a dull affair to me. Mostly people who are involved with student union used to take part in the sports, but some students do take part but I was not aware of them.

Alumni/Alumna

I don't know about any alumni network. In my time I've seen alumnus visiting the institution. But I've not found any thing related to reunion. And there's no data available in the official website also.

Admission

After my 12th I've applied for admission in this college in Physics. I've always been attracted to this course and in my locality this college is better option than others according to alumnus. Physics honours considered one of the most prestigious subject, so it's a no brainer to me as I always liked it.

Faculty

3.5

The only thing that I'm happy in this institution is its faculty. They all are well mannered and really good at their jobs. My teachers always helped me in problems. Not only that they were more like our friends than our teachers. We had shared a great bond with our teachers.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Sc Computer Science Faculty: Student ratio is = 4:23 may vary a bit Faculty are well Qualified & Teaching method is okay good, but not to the mark like very good or excellent. The exam term was timely (sometimes it gets a bit late due to some natural disaster like cyclone, heavy rainfall, etc or any govt. & university delays), and the exam level is nearly too difficult, something like in between moderate to difficult.
