Remarks

Good remarks of my college is having greeny environment and having more than 2000 trees and plant.

Entrance Preview

JEE MAINS, I scored 178/360 in JEE mains. I prefferd this college because it is a goverment college and also it one of the top colleges in punjab till date.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am a student on ECE. I choosed ECE all because of my intrest in mobiles and technologies. Always i wish to know how communication are done. I can get good command in it after Doing b.tech thats why i am here.

Placement Experience

Placement was too good. Some times it depends on luck that who is recuirtng you. In other hand faculty teaches new ideas to their students and tries to do their best.

College Events

last month we have our freshers party which is awesome,having lots of fun. This was organised by college celebration department and students of 2nd year. lots of dance performance and acts were played in function which makes that party succssesfull.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is not so expensible. Total fees of one year is around 110000. In which 60000 is tution fees ans remaning part is others expensives. A middle class family can also pay it.

I did'not get any scholarship and taken loan from anyone. My father pay all money even my pocket money.

Annual fuctions were organised here . Sports day is celebrated here all kinds of indoor outdoor games were organised in my colege and gives chance to all players.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are so much good cleaness is every were and in my hostel there are 200 rooms in which their are two befs for 2 studentsans i will rate mess system 9/10 because cooks were best but they are not the chef that he will make good mess is always being n

Alumni/Alumna

All senior students are of good behavior and communicate easily to juniors, give tips about exams that how to get prepare for it or what to learn from that . Ragging is banned in my college.

Exam Structure

Exam papers are conducted under syllabus and paper were good and exam rules are easy and corprative.

It was good till now. All faculties are good and helpfull give chances to there students. All they have a good communication sense and all are of friendly nature.

Likes

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Students can apply through jee mains and they can also apply via the college website. Www.sbssu.ac.in and the students also can call in admission cell. All the students need to pay 5000 for their registration and after that, this fee will be deducted from the fees....Read More
