Remarks

Andhra University is a great college with excellent facilities but with poor management and very less spotlight.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is actually pretty good and it covers each and every aspect of the subject which we are required to learn. Exam structure was pretty decent. But I wouldn't say fair because there was actually a little partiality towards a specific group of students who came through the AUEET and not EAMCET. No industrial visit was organised for us. Although we did do a mandatory internship.

Placement Experience

0.5

L&T, GSG and that are it with the mech core companies. Software companies include Infosys, Satven. Recruitment drive process contains. Shortlisting of candidates based on CGPA. Written exam for the selected candidates. Group discussion for the filtered ones. The final interview, Tentative percentage - 75%.

College Events

1

We used to have two major events for each department. One is the department day and other would-be block day. We students should gather our money to organise the events and very little help is provided by the college management.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college did offer scholarships to some students I guess. I couldn't avail any scholarships as I'm not eligible.

Campus Life

3.5

College life is decent. Gender ratio was 60-40. Dorm party was allowed once a year in the departments and in the hostel blocks. Labs are really good in some departments. Experienced lab technicians are helpful to the students. Equipment is also much better and modern. Workshops were held from time to time. Student diversity and tolerance were good. Extracurriculars were just namesake.

Hostel Facilities

1

Two simple words- Horrified and Unforgettable. Food was inedible sometimes. Sanitation is a joke somedays. The rooms we stay are not once cleaned by the working staff. The hygiene in and around the hostel mess is indescribable. Warden will not be in the block at least a handful times in the whole year. And the timings section is non-existent.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network works well in this college. Alumni meets are held from time to time. Senior students aren't given any special treatment but works can be done for them in a smooth manner.

Admission

I've always wanted to become a mechanical engineer. So it's the self-motivated choice when I took mechanical engineering as my core subject. Andhra University had great reviews and is, in fact, the best college in my state at the time I completed my intermediate. I wrote the AUEET entrance exam and secured a rank of 123. I was called for counselling and I got my preferred course immediately.

Faculty

2

The average age of the professors would be 50-55 and everyone had a PhD mostly. Of the 20 or so professors I had classes with, only four or five professors were able to get us interested in the subject they are teaching. The rest are just plain robots who come in, put up a PowerPoint presentation and read the lines along with it. They had some relevant certifications and everything back in the day I guess.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements start from the 3-2 semester with pre-placement training, aptitude test, coding rounds and interviews. Companies like HSBC, Prowess soft, ADP, Infinite computer solutions and many more companies visited the campus for recuritment. The average package is around 3.5 LPA while the highest package is 16.43 LPA in 2026 and varies each year. I was selected by Infinite Computer Solution in 4-1 semester itself with a package of 4.5 LPA. After my graduation, I plan to build my career in software development and enhance my techinal skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well-structured and covers all the important core subjects with useful practical labs. It is relevant for both industry and higher studies. Exams are conducted on time and are moderately easy. Adding more industry-oriented workshops and updated tools would make it even better. Overall, the course is clear, relevant, and helpful for future growth.
