AUCE Admission Process
AUCE uses its own AUEET for B.Tech admission, unlike most AP colleges that use AP EAPCET. AUEET is conducted by the Andhra University Directorate of Admissions and covers Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
B.Tech Admission
All 690 B.Tech seats are filled through AUEET rank-based counselling. AUCE has no management quota or NRI seats for these AUEET positions. Reservation rules favour local candidates from the 8 Andhra University area districts.
- Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- Exam: AUEET (Andhra University Engineering Entrance Test)
- 85% of seats are reserved for local candidates from 8 AU area districts (Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam)
- 15% of seats are open to non-local and all-AP candidates. A 10% supernumerary quota is available for candidates from other states
- 33.33% of seats in every category and branch are reserved for women candidates
- Reservation categories: SC 15%, ST 6%, Listed Backward Classes 29%, EWS 10% (supernumerary)
Application fee for AUEET 2026 was INR 1,200 for General category candidates and INR 1,000 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Admission is completed through document verification and fee payment at the college after seat allotment.
M.Tech and MCA Admission
M.Tech admission requires a relevant B.E./B.Tech and a valid GATE score. Over 26 M.Tech specialisations are available across all engineering departments. MCA admission uses AP ICET 2026 score via APSCHE centralised counselling.
AUCE Placements
AUCE’s placement cell coordinates campus recruitment for B.Tech and PG students from within the Andhra University campus at Visakhapatnam. As per NIRF 2024 data, 496 B.Tech students received job offers with a median package of INR 9.3 LPA. PG students recorded a median package of INR 10.5 LPA, with 499 PG students placed in the same cycle.
The placement trend at AUCE has been consistently upward. Technology product and IT services companies are the primary UG recruiters. CSE and ECE branches attract higher CTC offers while core branches like Mechanical, Civil, and Naval Architecture see placements in manufacturing, infrastructure, and defence PSUs.
| Metric | 2024 (NIRF data) |
|---|---|
| B.Tech Students Placed | 496 |
| Median B.Tech Package | INR 9.3 LPA |
| PG Students Placed | 499 |

AUCE vs JNTUK College of Engineering Kakinada vs NIT Warangal
The table below compares AUCE with two other prominent government engineering colleges that an AP aspirant in the top AUEET or JEE score band would also consider.
| Parameter | AUCE (Visakhapatnam) | JNTUK College of Engineering (Kakinada) | NIT Warangal (Telangana) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type | Government (Andhra University constituent) | Government (JNTUK constituent) | National Institute of Technology (Autonomous) |
| NIRF Engineering 2025 | #88 | Not in top 100 | #18 |
| B.Tech Fee (4 years) | INR 1,78,000 | INR 1,20,000 (approx.) | INR 5 to 6 Lakhs (approx.) |
| Median B.Tech Package | INR 9.3 LPA (NIRF 2024) | INR 5 to 7 LPA (approx.) | INR 15 to 20 LPA (approx.) |
| Admission Route | AUEET | AP EAPCET | JEE Main (NIC counselling) |
| Unique Programmes | Naval Architecture, Geo-Informatics, Integrated BS+MS | Standard engineering branches | Broad UG and PG engineering portfolio |
NIT Warangal is a significantly higher-tier institution in both ranking and placement outcomes. AUCE competes more directly with JNTUK CEC Kakinada among government AP colleges but stands out for its NIRF rank, unique Naval Architecture programme, and university research infrastructure. Aspirants choosing between AUCE and JNTUK CEC should factor in branch preference and the distinct AUEET vs AP EAPCET admission routes.
