Remarks

All the college's teaching and non-teaching stuff are really Good. They help us a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview

we have to give 2 unit test per semester and out of 2, the highest mark will be added in the finals. The unit test is of 14 marks 6 marks for attendance, 30 marks for practical, 50 marks for theory. The students were taken out for excretion or educational tour.

Actually I have no ideas about the placement or companies visited in the college campus so I have nothing to write.

College Events

I have celebrated freshers, then independence day, teachers day, Viswakarma Puja, music competition, annual function, saraswati Puja, college Gs election. I have enjoyed all of them I had lots of fun clicked photos took part in the program. I had a great time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Though the college is a government college so the fee structure is quite reasonable and affordable by a lower or Middle-class family.

One shouldn't have admission on free admission quota. We have got a small amount of scholarship which is given by the state government.

Shivam is always here for you guys have fun with Raj is the only thing that has been deducted I have no clue how much is the only thing that has been deducted from my account and I don't know what I said it will get a ride with us for dinner tonight.

Alumni/Alumna

I have a great experience with my seniors though we are the most junior batch so we don't have junior the seniors are really helpful.

Admission

I have successfully covered up the cut-off or least percentage for admission. I went to counselling. Chose the among the available subject and I got paid the college fee and got addmision. The cut-off percentage was 60% for BSc. I got a subject combination of Ecology, Zoology, Botany and English communication.

Faculty

In zoology faculty we have 7 teachers out of 7, 2 are female and rest are male. All are PhD holder in botany we have 10 teachers.

I would rate in quite highly in terms of both relevant and competative the subjects are well aligned and current industry standards and current needs it includes both theoretical need and both practical need at the same time..

Likes

I like the infrastructure of our college.
Our college have enough rooms and halls to accommodate huge number of students
Digitalisation in teaching methods in all classrooms.

Dislikes

Toilet is still not clean as promised by our GS.
Lack of equipments in practical laboratories.
Cleanliness and hygiene are a bit off track.

The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.

Our department (botany) has well experienced and knowledgeable professor's who guided us both practically and theruotically which help us to gain knowledge at a faster rate
The most important thing is that our department always go for practical experience i.e.through trip.
The department often conducts seminars and guest lecturers

Dislikes

As a student of Aryavidyadpeeth college, it is very difficult to be part of our college,as the department is very popular
Due to high popularity, the college campus is very crowded, which sometimes leads to overcrowding
There is a very limited seats in hostel, the outstation students faces many difficulties to stay nearby the college.

Scholarly help and studying materials related to the course are provided by the college however the result are mostly based on self studying due to inefficient management by faculties. The college lacks proper workshops and programs to prepare the students for real world circumstances.

All the faculty are very learned and helpful. They make an effort and are very invested in our progress
The infrastructure is very modern with multiple laboratories and conference halls. Construction work is going on for increasing the campus area and buildings
Apart from departmental libraries, the college boasts a central library with a large collection of books, articles and journals

Dislikes

Need for a separate parking area for students
Canteen and cafeteria space should be increased
Seat capacity should be increased in the common room

The requirements for 1st semester students is to choose 7 subjects. Core subject, Minor subject, SEC (skill enhancement course), IDC (inter disciplinary course), AEC (ability enhancement course) and two compulsory VAC (value added courses) of EVS and AIS (ancient Indian studies)

Firstly, we had to apply for respective departments which one wants to take an honours. Then ,cut off percent is taken out and students are given admission to that department as honours student.

Life at G.C College, Silchar

Apart from this college I also applied to Assam University, Silchar but the campus is too far from my home and Gurucharan college, Silchar is nearer to my home and due to that I chose my current college. To get admission in Gurucharan college, Silchar, you need to apply at samarth portal of Assam government first then after fullfilling all the procedures you can go to college website and take admission to in any of the desired course and if you missed the chance, at the end of July if seats are still unfilled the college starts an on-spot admission process where you have to visit college and on the basis of first come first admit they start admitting students until seats are fulfilled.
