Remarks
For academic activities my college is one of the best in this locality. We are provided with awesome faculty, efficient laboratories, perfect curriculum etc. Infrastructure and the class rooms are okay. Library is also filled with books from almost all genres. But extra curricular activities apart from studies is not supported by the college management. Sports is one such thing which is not promoted that much inspite of lots of students who are interested in various sports.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is one of the fastly growing field in the technology industry. Biotechnology is now getting linked to most of other technical industries. At first the curriculum is real basic that we learnt in our lower classes later on it gets expanded.There is total of six semesters, two each a year with an exam at the end of each semester. Exam is of both theory and practical.
Placement Experience
There is huge job opportunities in this growing biotechnology field. Many research oriented firms abroad like pharmaceutical, food industries recruit us. Presently there is no internship programme conducted in the college.
College Events
There is various celebration in which main events are union day, arts day, sports day, onam celebration, Chouristmas celebration etc. Apart from this other fests also takes place which is conducted by various departments.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees per semester its 24, 000 Rupees. So for 6 semesters it is 144, 000 Rupees. This fees is for my course. It varies with different courses some are self financed and some are completely aided. This fees is feasible for a middle class family.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are various scholarship programs depending on various courses. For my course there is a scholarship programme for students whose parents doesn't have enough annual income to pay their children's fees and other educational needs.
Campus Life
Actually my college is women dominated college. Our college management is a Muslim management but they do not inpose any caste or religion restrictions. Students belonging to all religions are welcomed and allowed to practice their cultural and religious activities.
Hostel Facilities
Actually I am staying in a apartment shared by five. Apartment is outside the college compound and thus it is not under college supervision. We have to pay monthly rent. Electricity is not included in the rent which we need to pay separately.
Alumni/Alumna
Most of our teachers are our alumni. They all provide a postitve environment for our studies. They motivate us and guide us to achieve our goals. Our seniors are also doing great some of them are doing post graduation in abroad while some are working.
Admission
Students get alloted thourough merit list published by Mahatma Gandhi university after registering in it. I got admission thourough final spot allotment. Other than that we can get admission in the management quota.
Faculty
College provides the apt environment for the courses in biosciences with perfect and efficient laboratories which help is to carry out various practical experiments. Laboratories for different subjects like biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology etc. All our teachers are post graduates and some of them have doctorates in various fields. With in few years our college management is planning to set up a research laboratory.
