Remarks

On Campus internships should be provided to students from tech-giant companies. More effort should be laid on the senior interactive seminars and workshops. Carrier guidance and placements seminars should also be conducted. The assignments must be submitted online.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

There are 2 mid semester exams and 1 final exam in each semester of every course. My course comes under the specializations of computer science and engineering. A different academic block is associated for all the specializations which is awarded with the best labs and classes of all the academic blocks of the university. Harsh checking of the exam answer sheets is conducted under my course, which results in lower C.G.P.A with respect to the general computer science students.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placements and job opportunities are overall satisfying. 100% placement is offered to students. The major companies are the mass recruiters. No, my college does not provide any internship at all. No companies come for internship offers in any semester. I am a second year student and have not heard about on campus internship offers form my seniors and this is my experience.

College Events

2

Minimum 2 events is celebrated every month. Tech fests and cultural fests are celebrated monthly which holds participation of minimum 5000 students. Some of the fests are held for 4 hours and some for 2 weeks. Other college students also participate in out fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is expensive. The academic is approx 95, 000 per semester of engineering branch. The hostel fees is 84, 000 for 4 seaters yearly and 75, 000 for 5 seaters yearly. The overall fees which included academic and hostel fees is approx 2, 75, 000 yearly.

Fees and Financial Aid

The university offers many good scholarship which includes scholarship on Joint Entrance Examination Mains, C.U.C.E.T scholarship, Sports Quota scholarship, Merit Scholarship, and backward class scholarship.

Campus Life

2

The gender ratio includes boys with 65% and girls with 35% of the total students. Many workshops are conducted under departmental clubs of each blocks. Their is no tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. There are almost 5 departmental clubs in every academic clubs.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

The hostel infrastructure is good. The rooms is clean and more attention is paid to the cleanliness and hygiene of the hostels. The mess food is very bad and cold. The fees is asked to pay before the next semester starts.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the seniors are helpful in every aspects of the university. The faculty and alumni is also very helpful. Their is no senior interaction seminar conducted in the university. The department also shows no interest in conducting these type of workshops and intercative seminars.

Admission

I got admission on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination Mains All India Rank. As Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is the boom technology in the industry, I was offered 100% scholarship on the basis of my J.E.E Mains rank in this course. The other options include the C.U.C.E.T entrance examination of Chandigarh University and also on the basis of 10th and 12th merit.

Faculty

1.5

The faculty is average level. There are 60% teachers who does not have the full knowledge of the subject which he/she is teaching. Same teacher teaches different subjects in different semesters. The teachers are told to maintain the bell shape curve of the marks obtained in each class, which results in undesirable marks of good students.

The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
