Remarks

The college is recently graded as A+ by NAAC. The college is moving towards providing better platform to students to showcase their skills for studies, cultural activities, sports, enterpreneurship etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Academic exam structure is diverse. It includes theoretical and Practical knowledge complying with latest norms of AICTE. We have two mid semester tests and one final exam along with other internal assesments. We are allowed to have research and patent work to be done in lab after college hours. We usually have 2 hour lab which is adequate amount of time to inculcate practical knowledge and it doesnt let us have hectic time. The lab also has external assesment which tests the knowledge which student gained in entire semester.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements are average for core engineering branches. There are about 600 companies who visit for campus placement and majority of them are IT companies. The university trains students to gain aptitude skills to qualify for entrance exam of companies to smoothen their placement process. The opportunity for core companies are less but are always present and university has promised to increase the number as to their best efforts to be in consideration.

College Events

3.5

We have national and international festivals for each discipline i. e engineering, cultural, sports, spiritual development hackathons, championships etc. The most noble among them are- AIU Youth festival, Punjab youth festival, CU fest, Tech invent, TBI Innovators summit, Hackathon national, hackathon international, woodball national championship, international sports championship, Electric Dolar Vehicle championship, Innovation day, Tashan nites etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible and economic in my opinion. For semester the fees for my batch is 69500 per sem. And hostel fees is 78000 annually. The examination fees is 1000 rs per sem and fest fee 500 rs annual. The security deposit is also 1000rs per sem. The fee structure is revised every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship is offered for various disciplines such as military ward, govt scholarship schemes, outstanding academics, Reservation categories, home Income based scholarship, cultural scholarship. For masters and post graduation there are scholarship for inhouse students apart from their academics scholarship as well. There are also loan facility available within campus with thouree banks in campus viz. SBI, HDFC and JK bank.

Campus Life

4.5

The labs are supervisioned by higher authorities and have sufficient space and environment for number of students admitted. Each lab is equipped with safety for fire incase of emergency. The labs contain equipments like computer and motor or panels. The computers are other hardwares are not latest but have adequate version for helping students to inculcate knowledge. The sports deparyment currently has two basketball courts and one sports ground but there is ongoing infrastructure for development of sports facilities.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The rooms are well furnished and there are facilities for drinking water and duct cooling for summers. The rooms are cleaned by university appointed maid staff as houskeeping incharge. The rooms are entirely cleaned by moving all the furniture every semester end. Total fees for batch of 2017 admission is 78000 which includes hostel rent as well as food charges.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. The alumni association is setup by the university and manages to keep track of successful alumni which can mentor to ongoing students pursuing their graduation. The alumni association also organizes student alumni interraction program which help in transparency and develop good relation with alumni.

Admission

My name is Pratik Nandagawali. I belong to middle class family. I am an average student. After completing my 10+2, I wanted to pursue engineering. I wanted to study in North India. I searched on the Internet about private universities because I didnt wanted to take benefit of reservation system in government college. I got search results with Chandigarh University and I visited the campus personally. I was impressed with the facilities and infrastructure along with placements. I also liked the exposure of studies in this university along with students of different culture from all over India. I consulted to admission block and they helped me to get admission. I had good score in ny state engineering entrance exam so I was allowed to take admission soon and then subsequent document verification process took about 1hour and I had completed with my admission.

Faculty

3

We have mostly experienced faculty. There are at times cases of discrepency among students as not every student understands fast and easily but teachers allow students to take their time and even help them personally. The faculty also guides as mentor for various other activities like sports, cultural, personal problems etc. The teacher undergo faculty development program organized by university to help teachers to cope up and teach students to the best of their abilities.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
