Remarks

Lack of a college hostel and playground are major setbacks.Besides that the college is a hands on experience providing us with many aspects of real life and helps in our overall developement. The co-ciricular activites have such huge impact on the students involved spectacular events are hosted every year. And the quality of students are always retained.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum followed is exactly as described by the APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University. The theory classes covers all the topics of importance and in some cases additional topics are covered too.For Computer Science and Engineering more importance is given to Labs where the oppurtunity for research and creativity is provided.Lab sessions are planned to provide better understanding and in-hand experience.Additional complex programs are included for improving the exposure to a working environment.Besides that additional assignments involving complex programs are arranged for fundamental subjects like Compiler Design,Operating Systems etc.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are carried out by The Career Guidance And Placement Cell of the college.Oppurtunities are available to the final year students based on the criterias layed out by approaching companies. Most of the companies are based on the IT sector and seem to give offers to a majority of students.Among them Product based companies are few in number and hence fewer chances of laying hands on one.Overall the placement seems to be good as there were more than a 100 offers in my class alone which has a strength of 64.

College Events

5

The Annual Techno-Cultural Fest of the college, Cult A Way, is famed in the state for its excellent planning and participation from colleges all over the state. It started 10 years back and is familiar to almost everyone living around the state. The events includes technical workshops, cultural events like dance programs, treasure hunt, quizzes, fashion shows and other technical events of interest like CTFs, Gaming Competitions etc.The fest lasts for about 3 to 4 days where the Pro-Shows are major attractions for both students and others.Famed to be one of the best Fests in Kerala.Considering the capital provided by the college For the fest the students seem to do pretty amazing job in securing sponsorships and organizing the events which improves their skill in management to a great extent.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Admissions to this college are based on thouree Quotas which is alloted thourough KEAM. The first two are alloted from the KEAM ranklist where the only difference is the fee structure. Students admitted to the Merit Seats have an annual Fees of about ?40000.For the Management seats the Annual fees amounts to about ?70000.Additionally admittants to NRI seats (few in number) has an annual fee around ?100000.Besides this students are supposed to pay a one time refundable amount of ?100000 for NRI seats and ?5000 for both Merit and Management. Also certain scholarships and Fee waiver schemes and available for meritorious students.Along with this the state government regulates fees to accomodate reserved communities like OBC,SC and ST.Overall the fee is feasible considering the quality of education provided.

Fees and Financial Aid

All the scholarships available here are provided by the State or Central government or other NGOs.I have availed a scholarship from the Central authority,Ministry of Minority Affairs for 4 years. It provided me with about ?30000 per annum. Also the college doesn't provide any loans on its own but provides with documents which are crucial for availing education loans from any banks.I have also availed loan from a private bank with the documents procured from the college.

Hostel Facilities

3

This is a Major drawback of the college. The college lacks hostel infrastructure which is mainly due to the lack of availability of land.A major portion of the college land are in possession of KSRTC central works which is under the same management.Disputes between the two institutions pocession of the land have resulted in a major setback for growing process of college's infrastructure. This has resulted in the lack of a proper hostel and playing ground for the students.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors students appears to be helpful before and after they graduated from the college.Interested students can confidently approach seniors for enquiries of any sort. Many workshops are conducted by seniors who acquired the jobs they dreamed of.They tend to be very cooperative when apprached for anything, academic or non-academic.They always provide us with proper guidance and support. Also there is an association of almnus which even provides grants for the college.

Admission

The admission process is carried out by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination,Kerala starting with the Entrance exam KEAM for students pursuing a professional course followed by the preparation of rank lists. Allotment to various colleges are carried out by CEE by taking in the student preferences giving more priority to higher ranks. This college heard for its excellence in both academics and non-academics attracted more preference than other options. I was sure about the course to select as my desired career require proficient knowledge in Computer Science. Also the placements offered to the alumnus is worth taking note of.Most of admission procedures where conducted thourough the KEAM portal. You would have to visit the college only at the last stage of admission process. There weren't any interviews at any stage of the process.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college are of excellent proficiency and are experts in the trade. The permanent faculty includes many well experienced and famed dignities in their respective area. They organise the lecture such that no doubts are left uncleared. They seem to constantly strive for helping students procure outstanding results. They seem to be always available for any queries or doubts and are approachable easily.

I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.
