On a scale of 10. I will rate my college 9. As there is always room for improvement.
Well, by far it has been pretty good. The exam structure is quite good and helpful. Monthly tests are held. The whole course is indeed research driven and totally fair. So far, it has played a big role in making me a better professional and I am pretty sure that in the next couple years it is going to have a major impact on making my life a better one.

The fee structure is quite feasible. Semester fee is around ?900 to ?2000 depending on the semester you are in. You can pay online to the College account no. No, there aren't any other additional fee that had to be paid for admission. Yes the college provides transparency.
Yes the college has offered some scholarship opportunities for the students. But I don't match the eligibility criteria.
Gender ratio is like 35 out of 100 are girls. Students are friendly overall. They party together on weekends. Workshops are well maintained. Cultural socities do their jobs and are regular. Students are of different races and religions. Economic status of a student doesn't hamoer friendship here.
No, I haven't opted for hostels. I stay in nearby PG. The facilities are good. 24 hour water supply. Fairly good drinking water. Not the best food. Quite good room size. Attached bathourooms. Helpful seniors. The rent is ?6000/month.
Not quite linked to the alumni network as I am new to the college. But the seniors that I have come in contact so far are super helpful and they are like ready to help me any time I want. I don't even need to buy books and other stuff as they are more than willing to give me theirs.
I got admission into this college by clearing the Combined Entrance Examination which is conducted by the govt. of Assam for students willing to pursue engineering in the esteemed govt. colleges of Assam. On the basis of the marks scored in the entrance exam, students get their seats.
The faculty is good I would say. Most of them are highly trained professionals and they know exactly when and what to do. Most of them are cheerful and helpful at the same time. The average age could be around 50 and the qualification average is atleast Masters if not more.
AEC is probably the best engineering college in Assam after IIT Guwahati and NIT Silchar. This college will be good for you if you have messed up your JEE exams and if you are planning to get a job in PSUs. NRL, OIL, ONGC, AGCL and many PSUs visit AEC during the placement time and offer good packages.
To get in AEC, you will have to give CEE exam of Assam, in which if your rank is somewhere near 500-600, you will get in. And if you want branches like CSE, Mechanical etc, then you have to get a rank of from 1-200.
Faculties are very helpful. I opted English department as my subject because I have interest in literature and history. And the department is also very good here. Teachers are very frank to students.
The course syllabus was very updated. Yes we were provided enough industrial exposure. There were so many good faculties. Specially Merry ma'am.
Admissions are direct in the College or you can get admission after giving entrance exam in the board. Then you will get some discount also according to your ranks. The entire admission process is very simple.
The campus has a well-established training and placement cell for proving the job opportunity to the eligible students. Campus invites many reputed recruiters every year for the campus recruitment. The students get good placements over all.
There are almost everything positive about my college, that I felt, as compared to negative. Everything have got advantages and disadvantages, same with C. V. Sc. Positivity I have discussed above and about negativity, I think Campus Interviews should be more. Thats it.
Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University is the best University in the North-East, for Distance learning. Their sheer dedication to teaching is amazing. I would highly recommend this University for every degree or diploma course. Especially for the one year Mass Communication program which I did. I completed my diploma last year and now I am working as a freelancer in my hometown, all thanks to KKHSOU.
