College Review

College management of the college is of top notch. The way of handling the exams and other activities is very admirable.The management is very strict regarding the indiscipline and nuisance behaviour.

The duration of course of B.E is of 4 years having 8 semesters. In each semester there is two internal exams (CIE) and one external exams (SEE). The internal exams help in providing a real guide of knowledge to the subjects we are pursuing. The SEE is the final exam which we have to pass to get promoted to next semester.The average of both the CIE's are included in the 50% of SEE result.The marks are calculated on the basis of CGPA and SGPA.For the 3rd and 4th year students there are industrial visit to the companies of there respective domains.Also there are placement classes held from the very first year which includes aptitude, reasoning, english grammar, speaking skill and personality development. These classes from 1st year are very helpful and benefitial for getting placed in reputed companies.

Placements are not that outstanding but also not poor. It lies somewhat between these two or you can say my college is having a decent placements.Currently I am in first year and haven't gone thourough any internship but had listened from the seniors and faculty that there are two online internship course.Companies like Mercedes Benz, Accenture,E&Y,Tally solutions etc. Visit our college. Previous year around 85% students get placed and every year it is increasing.As mentioned earlier placement classes are given from first year itself which is very helpful for getting placed in 3rd or 4th year.

The fest of our college is PESCO. This is a 5 day fest which includes cultural, technical and ethnic events. This fest is celebrated in the month of April in Even semester.Almost every students from the college in their interested event takes part in it. There is another technical event in our college called HACKMANIA and HACKATHON.In this event students from other colleges also take part with their respective projects and models based on the various topics given. The winners are awarded with cash prizes.

The fees of the college is completely feasible. Like taking admission thourough KCET is much more feasible than taking admission thourough COMEDK but KCET is only for the Karnataka's students but for student like me who is not the native of Karnataka have to take admission thourough COMEDK. During counselling period they took 50000 as fees and later manage this fee in your college fee when you go to take admission.Fees is to be paid per year. They accept cash, cheque, demand draft and sometimes online transaction.There is no hidden charges.

The college doesn't provide any sort of schlorship to you. But yes there are ample opportunities of schlorship for stundents taking admission thourough KCET. The Karnataka Govt. Provide schlorship to those stundent of their state who secured their 2nd PUC percentage more than 75. You can apply for it thourough online. The sum of schlorship provided will be based on you percentage in your +2 exams.

Campus is completely ragging free. There is equality among male and female and no domination of any section over another. The labs of our college is one of the richest labs of entire north Karnataka. There are separate stadiums for Tennis, kho kho, volleyball, cricket (PET CRICKET STADIUM),table tennis and many more. There are separate gyms for boys and girls and also there is a swimming pool.The students take part in various automobile and robotics competition.

Being from outside you have to opt for hostel for sure. The hostel for 1st year is approximately 1km away from the college. There is a regular bus facility for the students living in 1st year hostel provided by the college.From the second year onwards you can opt for the hostel situated in the college premises. Fees for first year hostel (VSVM BOY'S HOSTEL) is around RS 30,000 for year excluding mess bill which comes around 2500 per month.You can also opt for PG or separate flat. For flat you have to make a security deposit of RS 10000 and then around RS 5000-10000 per month according to your flat. For PG near college you have to pay around RS 4000 per month including mess bill and all.

Alumni of our college are placed in various companies and are connected to the college thourough alumni centre. As there is a separate block for alumni also.Even our seniors are very helpful for us. Right from study to each and every thing regarding our college life they guide us.

This college take admission thourough KCET,COMEDK,other schlorship criteria like PMSS or thourough direct management quota.Since I was looking to pursue my engineering in Computer science field.South of India is considered to be the best place having good numbers of engineering college with decent reputation and talented faculty.Firstly the COMEDK exam which is for the students outside the Karnataka who wants to take admission in college situated in Karnataka. After that a counselling process was there in Karnataka(mainly Banglore) where I got this college based on my rank. From there I got a allotment letter. I paid Rs 50,000 at the counselling center which later got included at my fees that is to be paid at college.Then I went to the college on the date mentioned on the allotment letter. There I filled the admission form,attached my allotment letter and other documents and paid the remaining fees and hence I got admitted.

There are total of 110 faulty in my course and around 2500 faculty in entire college. Around 50% of them are well experienced and little aged, 30% are young and rest are freshers but very knowledgeable. Most of them are PhD holders and post graduate having their M.tech from reputed college like IITs. Around 1500 faculties are having their national and international paper published and have their projects published during their PhD days.The faculty of their respective domain are having deep and core knowledge of their course. They uses both practical and therotical way of explaining.
