The New College Chennai, BA Corporate Secretaryship
Reviewed on Dec 17, 2015

Remarks

The New College is superb source for the current and future student to study Degree and Master Degree etc. but they have to use them effectively instead of creating issue or unnecessary over fun which finally affect and attack like strike and so on. Thus sometime Police van has to be there and its gone to that level.

Entrance Preview

I pursued B.A. Corporate Secretaryship in The New College, I passed out 12th (HSC) in first class (83%) so I applied in few college to pursue Bachelor Degree in Commerce or Accounts or Economics subject. I got an offer from two colleges other than this one. I opted this college due to couple of reason, as follow.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I felt they (curriculum) are the best to my knowledge and studied well. The issue in any college is, one has to be very careful on his / her study without diverting concentration on a different personal issue at this time. I too came across unnecessary issue involving but avoided and concentrated on the education as that was the main purpose joined for.Course curriculum was an excellent since I was already aware and selected based on HSC course.

Internships Opportunities

I just went through Infosys but didn't go for all the round since I was in a different planning or let's say willing to do my own business beside part time online work.

Placement Experience

3.5

Most of the pupil got very nice placements in reputed MNC companies like Capgemini, Accenture, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro and so on.

College Events

3.5

Half yearly or Annual function used to be there other than sports activities and fun around which unable to forget. Though we made lot of friends and memories, still sometime we felt that we are not close to the future what we planned. NSS or social service function attended few times.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was around Rs 15000 - 30000 and feasible. There is no hard rule on this but one has to pay on time as usual without any further delay which student might be in a problem to sit on the exam if in case really delayed. So, while studying in the college, most of the time parents are aware that they however have to pay it and complete their children study least for Bachelor Degree as a final one.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, few student got scholarship which I was not concentrate on that one at that particular time and missed it. Anyhow, they applied and grabbed the opportunity without fail.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is nothing but they grab the student prior to completion of the course and study which the student may or may not be getting high level score end of the year or exam in final or just prior.I can't lie, there was just fun issue on racism between an African to an India on skin color and so on but it was taken as sportive than making serious for nothing.

Hostel Facilities

4

I can give 3 out 5 for the hostel and there were no issues at all since the hostel was filled up with many states people and many countries people, this is the best time to learn something new from each one of them. It has no issue on their final list for paying the amount of hostel every month, since it is their duty for serving us and their calculation are the best for our enjoyment.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were just ragged in the beginning and then they became friend while college election was going on. They just sometime used to talk to us about the personal and future planning etc.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is almost serious and strictness beside usual assistance from the higher authority. There was no issue at all since it was monitored and supervised strictly.

Faculty

4.5

Almost all are gentlemen and no any reserve type. They were friendly and cooperative pertaining to the subject and queries during or even after the teaching time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well-structured and covers both theoretical and practical aspects. It provides a strong foundation for higher studies and career opportunities. Internal assessments and semester exams are conducted regularly, with a fair marking system. More industry exposure, internships, and skill-based training would further enhance students' learning experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The department of English not only offers good education but also so many values to lead our life. Faculties were so friendly in clearing students' doubts. There was personality development course to improve students' personality. Students had to choose any other subjects other than they are studying for sbi course. Due to this students learn about other subjects too.

Madras School of Economics - [MSE], Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
