Remarks

The campus is really beautiful. It's huge. The people are really nice. I have not experienced anything traumatizing with respect to the college or my seniors. I love my college and I don't believe there any significant bad here.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

NBMC is like any other government institution talking about the general course structure. Mbbs is one of the most difficult course and it's definitely hectic but worth it at the end of the day because one day we'll be able to bring smiles upon hundreds of faces.

Placement Experience

5

For our batch placement offers where very less because this department was started just 3/4 years back and is a multi disciplinary branch. I got internship through college and about half of the students got like that and is paid internship too.

College Events

3.5

Cultural events are huge. Plasma is celebrated every year. It's a gala festival. Apart from that we also have CMEs happening quite frequently which is very helpful. Other cultural events are also celebrated like Durga puja etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The annual fees is only mine thousand rupees which is extremely cheap as compared to medical institutions in other states. There's some talk about reduction in fees but nothing is clear yet. Even without reduction 9000 is affordable

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not heard about loans but scholarships are absolutely available For economically backward classes. I don't know the exact figures of stipend they provide with but it's not that bad. Maybe around 20000 per year.

Campus Life

4

Laboratories of manipal is extra ordinary they have almost all setups in there lab and the faculties are good enough to teach all these. They have a digital library through which we will be able to access all international journals.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I've opted for PG, the average rent lies around 3000-5000 per month. Hostel fees is 12 rupees per month which is very cheap but inconvenient. PGs are easily available and not that expensive and they are located in close proximity.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are really helpful and friendly. With time they grow into family. They inspire and motivate us and help us with almost everything. We don't feel inferior. No ragging is practiced. Everyone lives in harmony.

Admission

I wanted to become a doctor since I was 10. I always dreamt of wearing the white apron and stethoscope so medicine was the obvious choice. After cracking Neet I applied for West bengal ( wbmcc ) counseling and secured a seat in NBMC in the second round. After reporting to the college my documents were verified.

Faculty

3

The faculty is good. Not excellent but not horrible either. Some profeesors are really good while some are not interested at all. Overall I'd say that mbbs is all about dedication to learn and it depends completely upon you.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.

The curriculum spreads over 4.5 years + 1 year of compulsory internship. It includes a total of 19 subjects, these subjects prepare you well for handling patients in real life. AIIMS being an Institute of National Importance, has curated the curriculum very well with lots of focus on practical clinical knowledge. 4.5 years is divided into total 9 semesters and 4 Professional exams. In each exam you have to score more than 50% in each subject to pass. The course academics is very rigid and thorough, so you have to study hard really to come out as a skilled doctor.

MBBS is a very prestigious course, which provides you with a degree and license to practise anywhere in the county as a physician, and also opportunities to presure higher post graduate degrees. Faculty student ratio is variable from dept. to dept. ranging from 1:12 to 1:20 Faculties are highly qualified, most of them having MBBS,MD/MS/DNB(in one or multiple subjects)and even PhD. Teaching method is very good, student friendly,AC lecture theatre,Projectors, individual dept. and laboratories, library, examination hall everything is there.
