MIET Meerut, BTECH

Entrance Preview

I took the UPSEAT exam in the year 2003 and secured 10000 rank in 2 lac. I choose the college because its the best engineering college in Meerut my home town. I have other options too like Glagotia etc.

Internships Opportunities

Do not hope of a good internship. Most of the students manage to get some internship through their own sources. College unusually doesn't put in much effort.

Placement Experience

2.5

Close to 75% of the batch was placed easily. We had companies like Wipreo, Zensar, TechM, Indian Army Accenture, TCS among others on the campus. Average CTC was 2.4L

College Events

An annual Fest including both cultural and technical events is held. Almost all the nearby college participated. Events are large and well organized and provide ample opportunities to students to showcase their skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is provided to top UPTU ranked students ranging from full fees waiver to 25% off. But most of the time its of no use as top students prefer top colleges.

Campus Life

Campus life is bad. There are lots of restrictions specially on girls. Lots of politics goes around in these part of the country so be prepared for that. There are lots of mini parties but non of great standards, guys after all this is Meerut.

Alumni/Alumna

Almuni are at good places. People have done well and bad both. There are successful alumni some are abroad, some have gone for higher education. But to find a network is difficult because most of the successful alumni will try to avoid MIET tag. People have made it big because of themselves not because of MIET.

Exam Structure

We use to have 3 internal exams in each semester and there were 2 semester exams conducted by UPTU each year.

Overall Feedback for College - Admission , Placement , Course , Faculty , Events

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

What I See at SRM Ghaziabad

Likes

I really appreciated the college clubs and hackathons.
There are variety of events throughout the semester, something to always keep you on your feet.
Some of the faculties are really really experienced and have a unique approach that captures the attention of all the students.

Dislikes

Not many hotspots around campus to hang out after classes.
The infrastructure of the hostel can be improved a lot.
Food in mess is not great, the menu is not very diverse. Everything has aloo.

Placement Experience:

Placements are actually impressive with our college having the highest placement rate among others in the region. We usually achieve ~90% placement. We get opportunities from many large groups, such as Infosys, TCS, JPMC, BNY, Logitech, etc etc The list goes on. The highest package that I saw was of around 1Cr from a company I don't remember their name, but it was based out of SF and was a really great one. Average placement we see is around 12-20LPA packages.

The campus has all basic facilities from food to stationary.

Dislikes

The food may sometimes be not very good.
The campus has less places to spend some free time other than some spots.
Due to small academic hall places may look too crowded.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is really one of the the factors convincing everyone to take admission in SRM ,average package from the college is of around 10,00,000 which is really a very good amount in todays stresfull market.
