PSIT Kanpur, B.Tech, Information Technology

Reviewed on Jun 8, 2020(Enrolled 2017)

Remarks

It has exceptional placement records in North India. Moreover, I decided to continue my studies from my native place and PSIT is one of the best colleges. It has world class infrastructure and well-versed faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The faculties are well versed and trained in their respective fields. PSIT has a rigorous academic and training schedule. The faculties are always there for any help needed. A separate training department is also there which trains and prepares students for all the placement drives.

Class Size: 52Course Fees: INR 800000 per year

Placement Experience

We have a separate campus recruitment training team hired every year. Under the guidance of Nikhil Bansal Sir, alumni IIM, the placement team trains students and prepares them for all the on campus and off campus placement drives. Infosys and Capgemini are our day 1 companies and mass recruiters. Many core companies also visit our campus like Wabag, etc

College Events

3.5

We don't have much of extracurricular activities. Three events are conducted annually. Waves is an event for Freshers to welcome them. The most awaited event of the year is our 2 days techno cultural fest Ignitia which also has a celebrity night. Other than that in November we have our sports meet which is a fun filled day.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college runs a fee waiver program for meritorious students and gives them 10000 off from their fees based upon their financial conditions and students performance in exams. Also, students who achieve good score and rank in AKTU exams also get benefits of fee waiver.

Campus Life

4.5

PSIT has a full wifi campus, though only hostelers can avail the facility of wifi with a restriction on daily data usage. We have a huge library with all the books needed. Labs are fully functional and equipped with necessary instruments.

Overall Feedback for College - Admission , Placement , Course , Faculty , Events

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

College experience as a day scholar

the only reason i choose this college was because i availed fee wavier and our financial condition was not so good back then. I failed to score good marks in JEE advanced or else i would've enrolled in some iit. The college does try to match its pace with tier 1 colleges but there's a lot more to be done. The college has direct as well as counselling based admission. Direct admission include a test and interview while counselling is done on the basis of competitive exam score...Read More

for computer science and engineering you must have given jee main in which your rank should be under 500k and must have more than 75% in maths, physics, chemistry. you can also directly apply for that course; you just have to take the admission test on campus and clear the interview round. The admission test on the campus is based on the basic application of maths physics chemistry as well as aptitude. according to your score, you will be allotted the branch of computer science. admission starts after the first attempt of jee mains. you can apply for college by visiting the campus if you want admission directly or can apply through UPTU counseling. application fees vary from course to course. you can get the reservation benefits from the counseling process, but for direct admission, you can ask for the reservation benefits from the management present on the campus. the admission process is quite easy and fast. you have to be active because the seat gets full within a month or two....Read More
