Remarks

Is is one of the best renowned colleges in the North-East we which is the major reason for which I took the admission. It is also a government college because private colleges are not affordable to my family.

Course Curriculum Overview

It is duly updated. The faculties are very good with awesome teaching qualities. The college provides good number of opportunities to expose our underlying talent. It also organises various curriculum activities to promote the students. It also has NSS and NCC cell.

Class Size: 600Course Fees: INR 5260 per year

College Events

If we talk about the technical activities we have a computer lab with around 60 PC's. It holds various managerial seminars even some of them are of international seminars. Sometimes, it holds various inter-colleges events too.

Campus Life

The campus is quite big having 5 buildings of maximum 4th floor. The size of the library is also big having a seat capacity of around 150 students. It has also a playground and a gym centre. It has a hall for indoor curriculum like various cultural events, meetings etc.

Hostel Facilities

Though I have never opted for hostel but being a college student I can say that the annual rental is RS9000. The infrastructure is also good as compared to other colleges hostel. The food served by them are also healthy to ensure the good health of the students.

Gauhati University: A Students perspective.

Likes

The networking and the contacts that GU provides.
Exposure to various aspects. Chance of self discovery
Great environment. Loved the campus. A great place to study also the Library and canteens. Connectivity

Dislikes

Too much pressure on students in certain cases.
Very slow processing of documents by the authorities
Very delayed results of all the semester.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

The environment is good peace' and calm .
The campus is good clean and good faculties
Reputed name , the courses are good overall feels good to be a part of this college

Dislikes

People's are arogants, egoistic , do nepotism.
Attendance matters then knowledge, if a student have less attendance in one subject also they don't provide them to give exam.
Lengthy course and less classes the professor completed the syllabus in just 2 months, they say the semester have 6 months but we are giving the finals in 3rd month!

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate it 7 cause lengthy course less classes, Exam timing are vast others colleges held there exam on the last month of the year but our college held there exam on the 3rd month of the semester overall not good

Present the documents along with photocopies after scoring the qualifying marks and post that the college authorities will give you an acknowledgment slip which confirms your admission in the college and can also be used as the College ID until you receive the actual college ID.

I applied to a lot of other colleges but those were all backup for me if I didn't get admission here . I applied in dispur college , kc das commerce college , guwahati college etc . We are admitted to colleges here using the samarth website. There are two merit lists provided by each college in the samarth website. I wasn't selected in the 1st merit list in gcc which ofcourse scared me a bit , but I got my names in the other previously mentioned colleges but I wanted to wait for the second merit list for which I had to hear a lot like what if I didn't even get my name on the second list of gcc . But I was sure I would get because my percentage was just 0.4% short from the cut off of the last merit list . I wanted this college because of emotional attachments + gcc has one of the best merits among all the commerce colleges in the entire northeast . Even this year in the toppers list published by gauhati university, 9 out of 10 students were from Gcc itself...Read More

I've applied to many other colleges in Guwahati city like KC DAS commerce College , Dispur College, but I have choosed this college at last, because this college is also known as the best college in the entire Northeast, so I have chooses this college.
