The Department of Economics was created in 1915. Over the last one hundred years, the Department has contributed a great deal to the Indian society and economy through its teaching and research. Regarding exam structure, its a normal structure and obviously its relevant to the career and professional touch in all aspects.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The Pachaiyappa's College Administration is governed by a board of trustees called Pachaiyappa's trust board. The Board oversees the long-term development and plans of the Institution and manages fundraising efforts which shall ease the fees structure for students. Fees are very affordable compare to other institution. Moreover scholarship system in place helps the rural students to explore more compared to other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college arranged us many scholarships for all kind of students. i had applied for the government of tamilnadu scholarship. The merit based scholarships ONLY available in our college apart from community based scholarship for rural based students.

Every year alumni use to conduct by the college for a good cause which will help the needy people. As an alumni students we shall donate some fund to college which will be helpful for the needy. There is no gender discrimination in our college as we proud to say we used to it. Extracurricular such as kabadi, cricket, volleyball, music, athletics, boxing, etc has been entertained for the benefits of the students.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No i had not opted for the hostel since i'm a day scholar and chennai based student. The hostel is very old hostel, eventhough the hostel facilities are awesome and very peaceful. The hostel fees are very low as like as the college fees as i came to know by my classmate and my only college/class mate still in touch.

Alumni/Alumna

YES, they are very helpful for other students by helping among others in their relevant career though social medias. With guidance of my senior I got a placement in post graduation in university of madras through merit.

Admission

It is my passion/desire to study in the well known pachaiyappa's college since my 10th standard. Basically the merit based system followed. Initially we had been called through a postal confirmation for an entrance exam, then followed by an interview and admission happened. June 1999. Note: I had applied for pachaiyappa's college alone.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well-structured and covers both theoretical and practical aspects. It provides a strong foundation for higher studies and career opportunities. Internal assessments and semester exams are conducted regularly, with a fair marking system. More industry exposure, internships, and skill-based training would further enhance students' learning experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The department of English not only offers good education but also so many values to lead our life. Faculties were so friendly in clearing students' doubts. There was personality development course to improve students' personality. Students had to choose any other subjects other than they are studying for sbi course. Due to this students learn about other subjects too.

Madras School of Economics - [MSE], Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
