Remarks

All good remarks only. The good overrules the bad therefore not stating the bads. Like in any organization, there is bound to be positives and negatives but Stella wins hands down.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course must have definitely been revamped now as I passed out of the college more than 20 years back. I hope the current curriculum is more relevant to equip girls with industry-specific knowledge to make them career-ready, while engaging their minds to delve into the old while studying the new.

Placement Experience

1

There was no placement or internship 20 years back. Really hope things are changed for the better now.

College Events

3.5

The event calendar is a choc-a-bloc with many celebrations organized by the college union. You can be sure of fun times ahead, that's guaranteed at Stella Maris College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. You bet. From freshers' day to college fest called inter years to inter-coll competitions and dramas and music fests.there's a lot to look forward to.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Not sure of the fee structure as I had completed the course more than 20 years back. The fee structure is bound to be very different now. Please check the college website for the correct information on the current fee structure. I am not sure of the mode of payment accepted by the college either. In our days, we had to remit the fees at IOB counter within the campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

We did not have the option for any scholarship or education loan and there I will not be able to describe how I availed it. The college did not offer scholarship opportunities to students or at least I am not aware of it. Therefore I will not be able to help with the eligibility criteria and procedure to apply for the same.

Campus Life

4.5

Stella Maris is an all-girls college. Hostel conditions were not up to the mark twenty years back. I am sure things have improved now. Student diversity is good with girls from all corners of India, cultures, religions, castes and races all studying together under one banner.

Alumni/Alumna

Good experience. Strong alumni network. The friends you make here are your friends and buddies for life.

Admission

Good course content and faculty made me choose Stella Maris as my first option for my graduation. Each year was divided into semesters and we covered a whole range of writing styles from ancient classics to modern literature, women' s writing, linguistics, journalistic writing, Indian writing and so much more. The faculty was very knowledgable and came well prepared for the lectures.

Faculty

4.5

Not sure how many lecturers are there now but the professors are well-versed in their subjects and do come well-prepared for the classes. I found every lecture informative and captivating. The lectures are well-qualified with most of them possessing or pursuing their doctorates.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well-structured and covers both theoretical and practical aspects. It provides a strong foundation for higher studies and career opportunities. Internal assessments and semester exams are conducted regularly, with a fair marking system. More industry exposure, internships, and skill-based training would further enhance students' learning experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The department of English not only offers good education but also so many values to lead our life. Faculties were so friendly in clearing students' doubts. There was personality development course to improve students' personality. Students had to choose any other subjects other than they are studying for sbi course. Due to this students learn about other subjects too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
