Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course structure is so good as much as it should be, focus on research is very good, all they taught us is theory and practical, we were able to relate it to the real life all I had learned during my college days is so useful. What the students had to do in companies had to be learnt in last semester of college that is during training period, this can be made better if that things can be studied during college days.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement is awesome and similar to other old IITs, being a new IIT, IIT has gained lot of honour because of the work and research it produces. All big companies such as Microsoft, oracle, NVidia, sales force, adobe, math works, OYO, xilinx etc visit our campus. There was 100% placement for Mtech and in CSE this year and almost every year it?s same. The average package is somewhat around 16lpa M.tech?s gets a stipend of Rs 12400 every month.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Actually the fee is 37000 per semester, but the students who had above 60% in +2 are to be granted with scholarship, i.e. they have to pay about 25000 per semester, and for the backward class students whose parents have less then 2lakh income and also had more marks than 60% in +2 are given full scholarship. That is they have to pay no fee.

Campus Life

4

Extracurricular activities play major part in out university. Every month there happens at-lest 2 activities that are apart from our curriculum. There happen events like cricket in which teams are made of boys and girls. Inter zonal festival is held at our college, dance, singing competition, football, cricket, volleyball tournaments. Type writing competition, coding competition, College making.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes There is an alumni association. They keep coming and guide us through our career paths If you are interested in higher studies or in placement. They show their full support and help us guide in whatever path we choose

Admission

I had opted for computer science and engineering over others because the scope of computer science is increasing day by day as the new technology is coming with the coming generations and I want to explore and know about the computer technology more and more.

Faculty

4

Faculty of our college is well qualified, but there are some who are not. And if saying about interest with which they are teaching us, is not so good. All they have to do is to complete the syllabus before the exams. No doubt there are some who are so concerned about our placements and all.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Chandigarh University - [CU], Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm]
Reviewed on Sep 6, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
