Remarks

Overall, I would say that I think this is a very unique course being offered by SP Jain and they are very strict with the submission timelines and quality of work. This is definitely is not a run off the mill part time MBA. The institute makes sure you sweat to earn your degree, respectfully!

Entrance Preview

None. Sponsored by my employers. Granted to top performing employees who are senior managers and above. Company sponsorship / letter of authorization is a must. This is a very unique program which offers multiple study with work options with one of the best MBA institutes in India. Selection process:Personal InterviewGroup discussionIQ and Psychometric test

Internships Opportunities

No internship/stipend was required here since this is a part time program taken up by mid and senior level managers while working. The students need to attend 10 days each quarter on the campus of the college and submit work assignments every week in the off-campus period.

Placement Experience

3.5

Since most of the students in this program were having an range of 10-25 years of experience, there is no campus placement for this program. However, as a student who successfully completed this program, I would say that post completing this, the scope of opportunities really open up.

College Events

4.5

There are a lot of events organized from time to time to discuss about industry specific challenges. All alumni are invited to attend these events which are held in different locations in India and abroad.Additionally, annual day functions are held where we see a good blend of intellectual talks, festivals and cultural events being held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is partially paid by the sponsoring organization and other remaining being paid by the student - generally in a 80-20 proportion. The organization used to pay the entire fee upfront to the institute and then later kept on collecting the amount due from the students in multiple installments via their salary deductions. Also, most organizations sponsoring this program required the students to sign a 3 - 5 year bond with them.

Fees and Financial Aid

As mentioned before, there was no loan facility provided by the college since the payments were made by the sponsoring organizations upfront. Moreover, scholarship programs do not exist for this program as the average of the students in this program was 35+ years and most of them are generally well established and earning well!

Campus Life

4

The computer lab in the campus was quite good. They made us do some marketing and finance modules related exercises on some applications that really helped us understand the dynamics and complexities of everyday business. Also, these software are quite sophisticated and offer a wide range of algorithms to deal with different scenarios.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The food used to come from a restaurant called Vrindavan which is quite a famous restaurant in Mumbai for pure vegeterian food. SP Jain, as the name suggested is run by Jains and does not allow any sort of non-veg food being served on the campus. Food was always higenic, fresh and tasty!Hostel was very neat and clean with 2 people (same sex) staying in one room with water, Air-conditioner and water heater available 24X7.

Alumni/Alumna

We have been a part of multiple forums of discussions and keep on getting invites to attend multiple alumni meets from time to time. The alumni network is quite ok and senior students are very helpful especially when a new students needs their guidance on how to proceed forth with this program.

Exam Structure

The Exam structure was very innovative. Some of the exams were open book exams. Generally, we feel that its so cool to have the books allowed in examination halls, however, doing this course, I realized that open book exams were more difficult - simply because the time pressure to find the right answer while scouting a 600 page book is not easy! Better to read the book well and know your content rather than waste time trying to find an answer in the exam hall.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of the college was very experienced, knowledgeable and pioneers in their own field of teaching. Gust lectures were arranged every Sunday with industry veterans or successful high profile people. Most of the faculty members are IMM / IIT passouts and also teach at these institutes currently. Moreover, each student was assigned a faculty member who would be a mentor in addition to having a mentor in the candidate's organization. Generally this mentor would be someone very senior and high up in the ranks in the organization.

Placement Experience:

The placements depend upon which Specialization you're in. If you're a marketing student there will be lots of good companies coming in for placements followed by finance and then HR. You become eligible for placement from 3rd semester. Companies such as Deloitte, PWC, TCS, HCL, etc. visit the campus for placements and offer a good amount of Packages.

We learned a lot from the curriculum and the college itself. My journey was a mixed bag of feelings with many sweet and sour moments. The classroom sessions were fun and so were the field visits and management activities like webinars or mock marketing competitions.

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.

The university gives you a great exposure to shape up your life for a great future. There's absolutely no racism and everyone is treated equally. This is the only institute in pune where girls and boys are found in almost equal numbers. In fact girls are encouraged to become entrepreneurs.
