Undoubtedly one of the finest management institution in India and has grown in strength year on year. It's today ranked among India top 5 Management institution consistently. The vision to deliver highly trained management professionals has been consistent and the institute has managed to keep up with the ever changing dynamic business environment The fact that it's located in Mumbai has also helped

Entrance Preview

The VET for MMS admission in 91'. And was eligible to apply to almost all colleges across Mumbai that offered the MMS course. Applied to Jamnalal Bajaj and to S P Jain as these were the highly rated colleges and made it to S P jain.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Intensive and comprehensive. The first of the two year course comprising of two semesters were common to all and the next year comprising of two final semesters were the ones where you chose your specialisations. I chose marketing over finance and PC.

Internships Opportunities

Good. I did my summer Internship with Standard Chartered Bank and earned a stipend of Rs 8000 pm. It was a 8 week internship. I also did take part in a number of projects that involves external companies and organisations. The key point was that students from SP Jain were welcome and respected for their intelligence. In almost all projects the faculty was involved and guided us through the whole process. it was analysed and discussed in groups to bring out the projects efficacy in the real world.

Placement Experience

4.5

Outstanding. The batch of approximately 100 were placed in two days with every student receiving at least 2 offers. I had an offer with 3 companies and chose Coats Viyella or Madura Coats in Bangalore. My package if I recollect correctly was 8 lakh as MT for the first 12 months.

College Events

2.5

College festivals included a mix of academic quizzing focused on business. Cultural events in conjunction with external organisations and limited sporting events. The college I must admit was not hugely involved in such events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was feasible and within reach of most. It was maybe a little higher than many Management institutions but was worth every penny. The fee was payable in installment of 6 parts and did not come across as expensive. It was a small fee to be payed in terms of the returns that was expected when we passed out.

Fees and Financial Aid

None that I availed during my tenure but was aware of some scholarships that was offered. There were a few awards which were monetary in nature more to spur the students to perform. The Dean's award was considered to be the most prestigious of all the awards.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is critical.it puts you in to a "shared world" of dreams.expectations and competitions. It forces you to hone your skills and inculcates habits that hols you in good stead for the rest of your work life. But its all work and little play. the competition is intense and the gap of intellect and attitude is very narrow with no real winner and looser. The distance between the top and bottom student is just a few marks apart The sex ratio is heavily skewed to my dismay in favour of boys. very few and not very attractive women. like most engineering colleges. Women formed 10 to 15% of all students.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Terrible. the food at the mess was Vegetarian and to top it was "jain" food. The rooms were shared and the facilities were spartan

Alumni/Alumna

Fairly active and most of us are proud of our college. It's students are today's top notch managers in some of the world's top companies. The seniors and juniors are in touch through a fairly active alumni and tend to help each other regularly. I am in touch through our alumni association and take part in get togethers and also assist in regional interviews for selecting the next batch of students

Exam Structure

Continuous Evaluation through a series of Quizzes, a mid semester exam and a Semester paper. Hectic was the period. classes from 8 am to 8 pm with some short breaks and extremely stressful

Faculty

4.5

Top notch faculty led by the dean Dr Manish. It included a range of highly educated proffesors and some committed lecturer's. The stand out feature of S P Jain wad the impressive array of External faculty comprising of top notch industry professionals who were the once who managed to give a great perspective of the "real world ".

Placement Experience:

The placements depend upon which Specialization you're in. If you're a marketing student there will be lots of good companies coming in for placements followed by finance and then HR. You become eligible for placement from 3rd semester. Companies such as Deloitte, PWC, TCS, HCL, etc. visit the campus for placements and offer a good amount of Packages.

College management is not that good, which I felt is need to be improved. making everything student centric makes it difficult for students as well as college to be organised.

We learned a lot from the curriculum and the college itself. My journey was a mixed bag of feelings with many sweet and sour moments. The classroom sessions were fun and so were the field visits and management activities like webinars or mock marketing competitions.

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.

The university gives you a great exposure to shape up your life for a great future. There's absolutely no racism and everyone is treated equally. This is the only institute in pune where girls and boys are found in almost equal numbers. In fact girls are encouraged to become entrepreneurs.
