Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very vast but is designed very well as to not over burden the students and stress them out. The labs are also very informative and frequent. The exams are at the end of each semester and there are internal exams.

Placement Experience

The job opportunities available to us are very good in our college. Firstly we are trained well right from the beginning o how to appear for an interview and ace it also we are trained with good skills. The placement dive brings in many good companies each year.

College Events

We have many cultural and social events in our college that are hosted for the entertainment of students each year. We also have sports events and such. There are also many seminars and workshops that are very informative.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the four year polytechnic course is pretty feasible. The total fee amount for the four year course is 1,80,000 rupees which can be paid in yearly instalments of 60,000 rupees or semester wise instalment of 30,000 rupees.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarships are available to students on may basis. There are merit scholarships for academically excellent students that sometimes cover the entire fee amount. There are also scholarships for minorities and reserved classes. Students can apply for educational loans.

Campus Life

There are many activities available for us in our college. We have socials and cultural events to take part in. There are other events conducted by the college. We have sports for physical activity and we also have educational seminars, workshops etc.

Admission

The admission in this college requires an entrance exam that has to be cleared with good grades. The exams consists of 10th grade cbse syllabus. After this exam the students are selected through counselling on the basis of their performance.

The faculty of our college is very accommodating and supportive towards all its students. The lecturers are very qualified and experienced in their fields. They show a lot of interest in our studies and performances.

PEC - History and optimism

Likes

The campus is over 100 years old and has strong alumini network.
Placements are good as per my rank in JEE
Peer group is good and there are diversed people all around

Dislikes

Infrastructure is really old; but then again legacy comes at a cost.
Campus is smaller as compared to NITs and IITs ; so is the funding
Its still not an institute of national importance. Has no nation wide recognition

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Syllabus is good, it is very versatile and updated according to the industry standards
The University also has a good events and also a good night life
The infrastructure is very modern with unique outlets to eat in

Dislikes

There is a uniform system which is very bad according to university
Very strict rules regarding in and out of the University
The outlets in university are quite expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

Likes

Good facilities, really teaches student and give individual attention in class too
Good infrastructure , as it was just built in 2021, the infrastructure is top notch and no complaints about it.
Papers are being checked anonymously, one’s paper can be checked by any teacher in any campus, so no chance of partiality

Dislikes

80% strict attendance criteria other they would not allow to sit in exam
Passing criteria is 40% and grading system is also bery difficult, two D grade is 1 F and more than 2F could lead to year repeat year, not even semster
Alot of assigments, really hectic at times

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

Remarks:

There are very limited art college in india and GCA Chandigarh is 1 of them. I opted for printmaking because I wanted to explore different mediums of expression. The college is well equipped with faculty experienced in their own particular mediums aswell as exploring new mediums. You will get the freedom to build you creativity.

Best skill based training centre -istc

The admission process was an entrance exam we were called to the college for the entrance exam there were a total of 180 seats 60 each in electronic engineering and mechanical and 30 each in advance diplomas I didn't avail any reservation benefit the application for can be found in istc website and the things which can be improved are first fees of entrance exam second the number of reservations it's a lot which is not good that's all...Read More

Review of Education in indo swiss training centre

I had applies for pggc 11 and pggc 42, but i got admission in indo swiss training centre. It's specialized in education whichi is required in industry. Earlies they had 108 seats in total. But now istc has 140 seats for die and mould and diploma in mechatronics. Both of 4 years. max age for general is 18.5 i think. eg- if u are giving exam in 2022 then You should be born of year 2003. You can apply for this exam after 10th but if you complete this diploma before the age of 18 then you can't sit in placements....Read More

Journey of ISTC

1st Online registration and admit card for the exam on Sunday, registration will start on July. 2nd counseling for choosing streams and fee payment processes. 3rd start of new journey for 3yr ( electronic & mechanical) & 4yr(die and mould & Mechatronics). 4th every even sem top 3 and category top 3 will get scholarship on the performance in academics. 5th payment for fees is each sem 18000 in 2016 but currently need to check. The hostel fee for 6 months was 6000. Now the journey of my 3yr is my favorite, the moment, memories and friends are staying lifelong.
